The Indianapolis Colts are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to play a key role supporting the organization's data ecosystem, contributing to the development, maintenance, and optimization of data pipelines and systems that power sales, marketing initiatives, fan engagement, and analytics efforts. Working within our data engineering team, this role assists in transforming raw data into reliable, accessible, and actionable information for internal stakeholders. The Data Engineer collaborates closely with the Information Technology, Analytics & Digital Innovation, Marketing, and Sales teams to ensure data flows efficiently across platforms and systems. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, is detail-oriented, and is passionate about building data solutions that drive business value.

HIRING MANAGER
Vice President of Information Technology
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Data warehouse design, maintenance, performance tuning, and optimization.
• Design and manage ETL/ELT pipelines, data migrations, and data validation processes including data flows from NFL and third-party sources.
• Support the integration of data into the enterprise data warehouse (Snowflake and Microsoft Azure).
• Collaborate with CRM, Marketing, and Analytics teams to understand data needs and deliver reliable solutions.
• Develop modeled data sets for commercial business in collaboration the Analytics & Digital Innovation team.
• Monitor data flows and troubleshoot issues related to data ingestion, transformation, and delivery.
• Maintain data quality through validation, deduplication, and classification processes.
• Contribute to documentation of data processes, schemas, and workflows.
• Implement consumer privacy and consent processes through collaboration with the Privacy Coordinator to ensure compliance concerning PII, data lineage, and data governance.
• Implement cybersecurity best practices through collaboration with the Cybersecurity Engineer to ensure compliance with security controls and policies.
• Stay current with emerging technologies in data warehousing, pipelines, and reporting.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• 2 - 4 years of data engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Snowflake SQL/T-SQL and Python.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and cloud-based data platforms.
• Understanding of APIs, version control (GitHub), and CI/CD workflows.
• Experience with reporting platforms, including modeling data in support of reporting and analysis.
• Preferred experience with Matillion, Melissa, Power BI, Salesforce, Ticketmaster, and Fanatics.
• Experience in the Sports and Entertainment industry is a strong plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective team collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills.
