Position Summary:

As a Area Sales Representative (ASR), you'll be the driving force connecting Des-Case with its partners and customers, creating a profound impact on the businesses. The NorthEast ASR will also work closely with a Regional Sales Manager and a territory dedicated Inside Sales Specialist. You'll extend our brand influence by engaging industry leaders, partners, and champions, leaving an indelible mark on Des-Case's footprint.

This position is intended to cover: several states (Indiana/Ohio) across the North East and will work closely with a local Regional Sales Manager.
The ideal candidate needs to live in territory (ideally Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Dayton, or Columbus) and have drivable access to a large portion of the territory.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Attend consistently and frequently to the key customer relationships by staying abreast of their industry, their issues, client constraints and their opportunities.
  • Gain an understanding of both Des-Case products and client needs so the ASR knows how both organizations can work together on a solution for the challenges faced by the client.
  • Provide technical support to distributors, distributors' customers, and others interested in Des-Case products.
  • Help prospect for end users at the small/large business level.
  • Prospect for new accounts.
  • Make regular visits to existing customers to ensure they are pleased with the performance of current products and current lubrication problems are solved.
  • Prioritize time and resources for key accounts and new accounts.
  • Be an expert on Des-Case core competencies.
  • Emphasize product features based on analyses of customers' needs.
  • Describe product features in relationship to its technical components, capabilities, and limitations.
  • Communicate with team members and customer representatives to ensure that information flow is always timely, accurate and reliable.
  • Meet or exceed sales goals.
  • Develop and maintain prospect database via the Salesforce CRM system.
  • Occasionally plan, organize, execute and manage events (e.g. training) with key accounts.
  • Receive and execute work assignments based on emerging opportunities.

Background & Other (preferred):
  • Excellent communications skills in English (written and verbal) and excellent presentation skills
  • BA/BS in Business, Engineering, or related field OR equivalent work experience required
  • Strong initiative, self-motivation, and able to manage multiple customers
  • Strong interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Must have customer/client focus
  • Proficient with Microsoft software applications
  • High-energy and team-oriented candidate desired
  • Sales experience (inside or outside) preferred, not required
  • Any previous work experience involving lubrication, filtration, manufacturing, fluid power specialists, or similar industry is helpful.
  • 50-75% overnight travel
