Description:

The Sales Operations Account Manager will serve as a strategic partner for both internal sales and operation teams, and external customers. This role will play a critical role ensuring seamless communication, proactive issue resolution, and exceptional customer experiences. The Sales Operations Account Manager will work cross-functionally with Sales, Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Logistics, EDI team, Business Intelligence, and Accounting, to provide comprehensive support, monitor program execution, resolve issues, and maintain optimal account performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • National Account Leadership: Serve as the operational point of contact for assigned customer accounts, ensuring their needs are met and any issues are resolved promptly. Provide proactive oversight and direction to ensure long-term account success, addressing challenges swiftly while identifying opportunities for growth and operational improvement
  • Sales Program Execution & Optimization: Monitor customer sales programs and product assortments, ensuring that all aspects of the program are on track and in alignment with customer strategy. Oversee the execution, shipping, and reporting of new customer program launches. Proactively mitigating any risks for an on time successful customer program launch.
  • Product Assortments: Ensure customers maintain accurate product assortments that drive in-store performance and sales growth. Partner with Sales and Business Intelligence team to track sales performance and help identify product assortment optimization, in-stock rates, and sell through.
  • CRM Management: Collaborate with Sales and IT to ensure CRM accuracy and functionality, maintaining records including meetings, deals, program status, and key account metrics. Leverage CRM data to generate actionable insights, improve forecasting accuracy, and strengthen strategic account planning.
  • Account Health Monitoring: Oversee the overall health of the account by tracking in-stock rates, replenishment, and ensuring product availability. Collaborate with the customer, Demand Planning, Supply Planning, and Business Intelligence to resolve any issues.
  • Order Management: Ensure that fill rates, forecasts, and special items (such as POP materials and in-store fixtures) are ordered accurately and delivered on time. Collaborate closely with the EDI team to resolve order processing issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Business Intelligence, the EDI team, and Accounting to resolve any issues related to customer orders, shipments, invoicing, or system-related concerns.
  • Customer Engagement & Communication: Establish communication with customers, providing insights, updates, and recommendations that strengthen relationships and customer satisfaction.
  • Sales Partnership: Act as a partner to the Sales Managers by providing regular updates, insights, and addressing any operational concerns that may impact sales. Assist the Sales Managers in any efforts to optimize and grow the customer account’s success.
  • Process Improvement & SOP Development: Help identify gaps and inefficiencies in workflows across Sales, Operations, and Customer Management functions. Assist in the design, implementation, and standardization of new processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that improve efficiency, enhance service quality, and drive consistency across the organization.
Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in customer service, sales support, or account management, ideally in an operational role
  • Strong understanding of CRM & ERP systems and account management processes
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Familiarity with supply chain processes, EDI systems, and inventory management
  • Problem-solving mindset with a customer-first attitude

Work Environment:

This role will work closely with both the Operations and Sales departments, and successful candidates should be comfortable working cross-functionally and balancing multiple priorities. Flexibility, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach are key for this position.
