Our research and development engineers are tasked with designing and developing innovative, breakthrough next-generation medical devices that improve and extend the lives of patients around the world. The Interventional Cardiology Therapies (ICTx) business offers minimally invasive technologies and works to diagnose and treat a variety of cardiovascular conditions. Growth in the division is driven by aging population, global healthcare access and diabetes.

As a Research & Development Engineering Internwithin the Interventional Cardiology division, you'll support projects spanning exploratory research to new product development, including work on next-generation single-use and capital equipment devices. This role offers hands-on experience with real-world problem solving, design, and system-level engineering, with responsibilities tailored to your strengths. We're looking for a motivated engineer ready to contribute meaningful solutions in a collaborative, fast-paced med-tech environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Design, fabricate, and prototype new device concepts to address clinical feedback
  • Develop new and innovative test methods for in vitro device testing
  • Assist new product development teams with device design and testing

  • Perform troubleshooting on new products/process problems as related to design, material, or process

  • Research and analyze clinical and market data to identify new market opportunities
  • At times you will be asked to work independently to plan and schedule own activities necessary to meet business timelines and provide updates to other team members

Required qualifications:

  • Must graduate between Fall 2027 - Spring 2028

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's or graduate level degree majoring inBiomedical Engineering

  • Prior Boston Scientific R&D Engineering Co-op experience is required

  • Must be able to commit to the co-op program dates May 10, 17 - August 13, 20
  • Must be available to work full-time (up to 40 hours per week), Monday through Friday, on-site five days per week
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization

  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the Maple Grove, MN Boston Scientific Corporate location
