As a Manufacturing Engineer Intern you are responsible for the actual production of medical and life savings devices. Generally, you would support the daily production of medical devices through engineering investigations of product, process, material, and equipment. These investigations are to help the business achieve its safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals. A typical day for an ME is to review previous day's reports through automated and customized reports, attend daily standups for prioritization, and a balanced workload of hands-on troubleshooting and project planning/execution. Work may include problem solving equipment, generating validation data/reports, project management.   

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Reduce scrap and increase product output for particular manufacturing lines and processes   
  • Aid in development of new products and processes   
  • Process Improvement of existing processes and products   
  • Work with most modern technology in the industry   
  • Integrate technology with people to achieve real-world solutions   
  • Collaborate and gain experience from a diverse cross-functional team   
  • Gain better understanding by applying academic knowledge to a real-world problem set   

Required Qualifications:    

  • Current junior (grad dates between May-December 2028)
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering 
  • Must have prior internship with Boston Scientific
  • Must be able to start internship on May 17th or 24th, 2028 and work for 12 weeks  
  • Must have reliable transportation to/from work

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Self-starter with the ability to identify improvement opportunities   
  • Knowledge of analytical techniques and statistical analysis
