Role: Business Development Manager / Territory Sales Manager – Life Sciences

Location: Boston, MA (Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Boston area)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager / Territory Sales Manager to drive new business growth within the Life Sciences market. This role is ideal for a sales professional with a proven track record of selling laboratory or CRO services to pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and academic research organizations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing strategic client relationships, generating new business opportunities, and achieving revenue targets across the assigned territory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute business development strategies to expand the client portfolio within Pharma, Biotech, CRO, and Academic Research organizations.
  • Generate new business through prospecting, cold calling, networking, client visits, and industry events.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and existing clients.
  • Lead the sales cycle from opportunity identification through proposal development, contract negotiation, and deal closure.
  • Prepare and negotiate Statements of Work (SOWs), pricing, and commercial agreements.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Operations, and Project Management teams to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Represent the organization at scientific conferences, trade shows, and networking events.
  • Consistently achieve or exceed assigned sales and revenue goals.

Required Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of Business Development or Territory Sales experience within the Life Sciences industry.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience selling Laboratory Services, CRO Services, Histology, Pathology, or related scientific services.
  • Proven experience selling to Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, CRO, or Academic Research organizations.
  • Strong background in prospecting, client acquisition, relationship management, and contract negotiations.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving or exceeding sales targets.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship.
