Job description

Summary: The Application Engineer, reporting to the Customer Service Manager, is directly responsible for enhancing process capabilities in providing system solutions for our end-users’ applications.  Will use knowledge, experience, and skills to provide technical support.  Will apply Product knowledge of pumps and processes to provide application solutions to improve our customer’s ROI.  This role works with our inside and outside sales team and directly with our customers to formulate timely and accurate proposals for process solutions.  Support Anderson Process Core Values of: Growth, Expertise, Embrace Change, Teamwork, & Community.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•    Understanding advanced product application of pumps, motors, valves, filters, controls and other complementary equipment to provide an effective solution.

•    Design and application of centrifugal, positive displacement, and/or vacuum pump technologies.

•    Provide solutions to customer applications.

•    Create pump “skids” for end users, utilizing existing layouts or creating your own.

•    Work with the outside sales team to provide timely quotes.

•    Formulate bid quotes using existing templates to maximize effectiveness.

•    Problem solving by identifying the root cause through analysis.

•    Accompany the sales team to customer site to collaboratively provide an engineered solution.

•    Provide expertise to ensure quality and added value to our customers .

•    Utilize engineering standards and practices .

•    Embrace the team approach between engineering, customer service representatives, and sales team.

•    Work collaboratively to provide engineered solutions for process improvements.

•    Problem solving by identifying the proper products for the customer with limited information.

•    Establish personal rapport with potential and current customers.

•    Provide product and process expertise to assure quality and added value to our customers.

•    Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, vendor training, reviewing professional publications and establishing personal networks.


Education/Skills/Experience

Required:

•    Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or civil engineering.

•    Experience and/or comfort level working with customers.

•    Excellent interpersonal skills.

•    Articulate communication skills; written and presentation.

•    Problem solving and Systems development.

•    2-5 years of industrial pumping systems.


Preferred:

•    Product knowledge, industrial pump experience.

•    Sizing pumps and calculating flow rates.
