We are seeking a Solutions Engineer with a deep understanding of manufacturing processes. This role requires expertise in welding, CAD, and a forward-thinking understanding of how automation enhances and transforms entire manufacturing processes.  As a member of our sales team, you will work closely with the engineering and customer teams to provide tailored solutions that address complex manufacturing challenges. What You'll Do
  • Collaborate with the sales team to understand and communicate the technical details of Path Robotics' products, making informed recommendations to meet customer needs.
  • Serve as a technical advisor for prospects and clients, addressing inquiries and providing troubleshooting assistance.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of customer manufacturing processes, including upstream and downstream workflows, to deliver impactful solutions.
  • Be an expert in our machine learning, computer vision, robotics, sensors, and AI technologies, and their applications in manufacturing.
  • Actively participate in customer engagements to assess application requirements and evaluate how robotic solutions integrate into and improve the manufacturing floor.
  • Drive new business opportunities by leveraging a thorough understanding of customer needs to accelerate tailored solution development.
  • Support the sales process from discovery to closure, application assessment, pipeline management, and final delivery.
  • Gather customer feedback to inform engineering teams about potential product enhancements and new features.
  • Lead and deliver compelling technical presentations that demonstrate product value and suitability for solving specific manufacturing challenges.
  • Utilize Path's proprietary software to simulate robotic motion and welding plans to inform Path's capabilities on prospect's parts.
  • Perform robotic welding experiments to test systems under development, such as sensors, inspection systems, path planning strategies, and hardware.
  • Work with our hardware team to fabricate test coupons for application feasibility testing and other in-house experiments.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Weld Engineering or relevant experience working in a highly technical environment. 
  • Familiarity with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks)
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong internal and external client relationships.
  • Proven experience delivering technical presentations and effectively communicating product value.
  • Adaptable to evolving priorities, technologies, and environments.
  • Minimum of 25% travel required, interfacing and working directly with customers.

Additional Nice to Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Weld Engineering or equivalent experience in related fields working with automation hardware and software.
  • Familiar with  programming industrial robotics platforms, including Yaskawa, ABB, Kuka, and Fanuc.
  • Background in fusion-based, primarily MIG (GMAW), weld parameter development for carbon/stainless steel, aluminum a plus.
  • Experienced with dynamic robotic welding technologies such as adaptive fill, touch sensing, and seam tracking.
  • Proficient with manual welding processes, including GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, and SMAW.
  • Strong understanding of weld symbology and print interpretation.
  • Experienced with Design of Experiment (DoE) principles.
  • Basic understanding and experience of software programming (C++, C#, etc.) is a plus.
