JOB DESCRIPTION:
Position Title: Co-op, Mechatronics Engineering
Date Last Revised: May 17, 2023
Position Summary:
Co-op opportunity for Mechatronic Engineering majors with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronic Engineering with a dual major or minor in Electrical or Computer Engineering is preferred. A Co-op in this position will work within one of our Centers of Competency (CoC's).
Essential Functions:
  • Advanced product concept R&D and new product development
  • Systems development and test simulation design (electronic/mechanical systems, prototyping/input, signals/design control, architecture/signal output conditioning/GUI, and display systems)
  • Product validation and troubleshooting in laboratory and vehicle environments
  • Oversee inventory, assembly, and coordination of testing with technicians
  • Product support, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
  • Software algorithm/HW validation using software and hardware-in-the-loop technologies
  • Product phase reviews, product DFMEAs, and project management
  • Special braking systems and modules design
  • Electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic circuit analysis
  • Product application development, road test, and customer demos
  • Assist in translating customer requirements into new product
Eligibility Requirements:
  • Currently attending an accredited college or university
  • 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional analytical skills
  • Ability to establish trust and credibility
  • Enjoyment in research and development (R&D)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Fluency in English, German, and Spanish is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Hands-on skills with mechanical tools, shop equipment, and trucks
  • Computer Language - HTML, Visual Basic
  • Understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, and simple electronic systems
General Information:
  • Hours and Location: 40-hour work week on-site in Avon, Ohio (20 miles west of Cleveland)
  • Pay Rate: $19 - $26/hour (contingent upon credit hours)
