Summary

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Demand & Supply Planning Manager leads and executes the demand and supply planning processes for the company. Work collaboratively with the Sales team to create a non-biased customer demand forecast. Generate the production and material requirements plans to satisfy customer demand at minimum effective inventory while managing within key operational efficiency parameters. Lead the monthly Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) reviews with senior leadership to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities throughout the supply chain. ย Strong collaboration with Sales, Customer Service, Operations, Finance and Logistics is critical to meeting business goals.

Peace Coffee Office & Roastery, 2801 21st Ave S, Ste 130, Minneapolis MN 55407.ย This role will start as a fully on-site position while onboarding, with the possibility of two remote working days once onboarding is completed.

Job Responsibilities:


Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planningย 

  • Lead Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process including Demand Planning, Inventory Strategy, Production Planning, and SIOP Review process.
  • Lead monthly SIOP review meeting with a cross functional leadership team to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities related to service levels, inventory levels, forecast accuracy, and other key metrics.ย 
  • Provide analysis to Sales and Operations management of key performance metrics, as well as direction on minimizing out of stock products, and developing methods the company can use to improve inventory turns.
  • Partner with Operational leads, Finance and IT to develop KPIs. Implement tracking, reporting and analysis systems (leveraging NetSuite wherever possible).ย 

Lead and execute Demand planning process

  • Collaborate with the Sales team to incorporate new and discontinued customers and products to drive alignment on the sales forecast.
  • Generate and report key performance metrics (forecast accuracy, bias).ย 
  • Lead cross-functional demand review each month to review forecasts, volume gaps and opportunities, and insights.ย 

Lead and Execute Supply Planning process

  • Lead, build, and maintain tools, systems, and processes to generate Production & Material Requirements plans, taking into account vendor lead times, manufacturing strategy, capacity, recent demand and supply trends, customer order-to-shipment lead times and plant staffing considerations (maintenance schedules, changeovers, and holidays).
  • Purchasing - place orders for packaging materials and supplies to facilitate production planย 
  • Yield Management - Collaborate and develop with Operations Director, Production and Lead Roaster on green to roasted yield by SKU, gaining accuracies into weekly demand planning totals. Overall tighter margins would be revisited every quarter. ย ย 
  • Generate and report key performance metrics (actual versus scheduled production, service levels).ย 
  • Lead cross-functional supply review monthly to review customer orders, production schedules, and material requirements.

Inventory Managementย 

  • Manage inventory to ensure high service levels via product availability.ย 
  • Develop manufacturing strategies by product segment (Make-to-Order, Make-to-Stock, Make-to-Forecast).
  • Set targets for optimal stock levels for the business as it grows and plan supply/demand to maintain these levels
  • Work closely and proactively with suppliers to maximize inventory effectiveness and reduce waste.
  • Generate and track key performance metrics (inventory days of supply, etc.).ย 
  • Maintain NetSuite raw goods inventory system.
  • Perform item setup and maintenance in NetSuite, including co-packing workflows

Requirements

Qualifications

  • 4+ years combined experience/education in Sales, Inventory, and Operations planning and supply chain processes in a manufacturing environment; experience in food or beverage manufacturing is ideal, with coffee as a plus
  • APICS/ASCM Certification preferred (E.g., CPIM, CSCP, etc)
  • Minimum two years of demonstrated experience as a Planner in the CPG industry.
  • Sound knowledge of supply chain processes and procedures including demand planning, production planning, inventory planning, and replenishment processes.
  • Proficiency in MS office applications, with advanced Microsoft Excel skills, and GSuite required.ย 
  • ERP experience required, NetSuite experience preferred
  • Comfortable with making strategic decisions in a constantly shifting environment, and is comfortable in an autonomous environment, identifies opportunities, and demonstrates anticipatory problem solving.ย 
  • Strong analytical skills: gather, organize, and analyze data from multiple sources and effectively break down complex data (quantitative and qualitative) into manageable pieces to be used in the planning process.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and in a timely manner and including presenting complex information in a compelling, easy to follow story.ย 
  • Ability to build effective relationships with people at all levels and to collaborate well to develop rapport and credibility with cross functional teams and external partners.
  • Understands the connectivity and impact of events throughout the supply chain. Communicates differing points of view in ways that bring constructive change and accomplish group goals.ย 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work primarily in an office environment, with periodic presence in production or warehouse areas
  • Ability to sit, stand, and move between workspaces for extended periods
  • Ability to use a computer, keyboard, and other office equipment for prolonged periods
  • Ability to visually review data, reports, and computer screens
  • Ability to communicate effectively in meetings and presentations
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) when entering production areas

Compensation: $75k - $85k Annually, Dependent on Experience


Benefits: Health/Dental/Short-Term Disability Insurances - first day of the month following hire date, 401k with match - after 90 days.
