SUMMARY: The Manager Commercial Analytics is responsible for overseeing all commercial and customer data analytics, with a strong focus on piece level data (PLD) analysis to create customers profile and pricing decision support. This position will develop and manage end-to-end analytical reporting solutions while directly supporting a team of analysts and senior analysts. This role will monitor both standard and ad hoc analyses on various pricing, rate logic and methodological topics to support pricing decision making, including support of the annual general rate increase process, commercial IQ initiatives, and AI-driven analytical solution development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Build, maintain, and continuously improve PLD reporting solutions in Power BI, incorporating feedback and requirements from customers and the sales team; ensure all PLD analyses meet a one-day turnaround KPI
  • Support the annual general rate increase process along with the commercial and pricing management team to ensure the rate increase is seamless and error-free
  • Drive Commercial IQ initiatives and contribute to the development of AI-driven analytical solutions to monitor profitability and support pricing decisions
  • Analyze large volumes of commercial and customer data to generate actionable insights and recommendations for business stakeholders; to be completed within a short turnaround time and as necessary
  • Work cross-functionally with sales, pricing, and commercial teams to understand business needs and translate them into analytical solutions
  • Lead, train, and manage a team of analysts and senior analysts, providing guidance and ensuring the quality and accuracy of all analytical outputs
  • Identify and implement opportunities for automation and process improvement within commercial analytics and reporting
  • Provide customer-specific data analyses and ad hoc reporting as needed
  • Monitor all product and commercial Power BI reports to ensure minimal downtime and report logic alignment with business requirements remains
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field required; master's degree in Business Analytics,
  • Data Science, MBA with an analytical focus, or a related field preferred
  • 5 - 8 years of experience with significant experience in leading a team and working on analytics is required
  • Preferred Certifications:
  • Microsoft Power BI certification
  • Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Data Engineer or Azure Data Scientist)
  • Databricks certifications
  • Six Sigma or process improvement certifications (given the cross-functional and process improvement responsibilities)

REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:
  • High energy with solid analytical mindset
  • Strong ability to lead and manage a team
  • Strong ability to quickly become familiarized with new tasks and/or information
  • Expert knowledge in data mining, modeling and analysis using SQL (required), Microsoft Access (required), Excel (required), Power BI, Databricks among others
  • Proficient in Microsoft Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Synapse Analytics for data extraction, transformation, and analysis
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL, PySpark/Python, DAX, and Power Query for data processing and Power BI report development
  • Proficient in identifying and solving problems, and utilizing analytics and modeling techniques
  • Self-starter, able to work well under pressure, perform and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Ability to translate large data sets to key business messages
  • Excellent communication skills
