Job description

Director of New Construction | Sales & Estimating

New Jersey | Full-time


Topa Group, Inc. is partnered with a fire sprinkler contractor with an established presence across commercial, industrial, residential, warehouse, and mixed-use construction in New Jersey and surrounding markets. The business is scaling aggressively and adding a Director to lead the New Construction Division. Full ownership of sales growth, estimating, backlog development, and divisional profitability.


The role

  • Lead the New Construction Division with full P&L accountability
  • Manage estimators, bid coordinators, and preconstruction staff
  • Oversee all bid strategy, proposal review, labor calculations, material pricing, and risk analysis
  • Drive relationships with GCs, developers, CMs, owners, and engineers
  • Coordinate with Operations, Design, Purchasing, and Accounting on project turnover and execution
  • Own backlog reviews, WIP meetings, forecasting, margin protection, and change order management


What we need

  • 10+ years in fire protection or mechanical construction
  • Strong background in fire sprinkler estimating and new construction sales
  • Proven leadership managing estimating or preconstruction teams
  • Solid grasp of job costing, contract review, scheduling, and backlog forecasting
  • Experience with Sage 300 CRE, Procore, Salesforce, or ConstructConnect a plus
