What is SaaS Learning Development?

SaaS Learning Development refers to the process of creating, delivering, and managing educational content or training programs using Software as a Service (SaaS) platforms. These solutions enable organizations to provide online learning experiences, track learner progress, and update materials easily without managing on-premises infrastructure. SaaS Learning Development specialists often work with Learning Management Systems (LMS), authoring tools, and analytics to design effective digital training that is scalable and accessible from anywhere. This approach is commonly used for employee onboarding, compliance training, and professional development in various industries.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in SaaS Learning Development?

To excel in SaaS Learning Development, you need expertise in instructional design, adult learning theories, and experience with cloud-based software environments. Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS), authoring tools like Articulate or Captivate, and certifications such as CPLP or ATD are highly valued. Strong communication, creativity, and project management skills help create engaging and effective training content for diverse users. These competencies are crucial for designing scalable, impactful learning solutions that drive software adoption and user success in fast-evolving SaaS organizations.

What are some typical challenges faced by professionals in SaaS Learning Development, and how can they be addressed?

Professionals in SaaS Learning Development often encounter challenges such as keeping training materials up-to-date with frequent software updates, addressing diverse user learning needs, and measuring the effectiveness of learning initiatives. To manage these, it's important to establish agile content review cycles, leverage user feedback, and use data analytics to track training impact. Collaborating closely with product, customer success, and support teams also ensures content remains relevant and aligned with user requirements.

Job description

The Role

You'll support and accelerate Everlaw's contracting engine, helping manage deal volume while building out modern, AI-assisted legal workflows. Working closely with Commercial Counsel, you will review, redline, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements while acting as a responsive, business-minded partner to our Sales and Finance teams.

This is a full-time, exempt position based in our Oakland, CA office with a hybrid work schedule: in office M/W/Th with the option to work from home on Tu/Fr.

What you'll do
  • Review, redline, and negotiate customer-facing SaaS subscription agreements, order forms, NDAs, and statements of work using Everlaw's standard positions and playbooks.
  • Review and negotiate inbound vendor and software licenses, professional services agreements, and procurement contracts.
  • Apply, maintain, and update Everlaw's contract playbooks, fallback positions, and standard form agreements as our business and legal landscape evolve.
  • Serve as a responsive legal partner to Sales and Finance, offering pragmatic advice on contract terms affecting revenue recognition, billing structures, and deal velocity.
  • Thoughtfully integrate approved AI productivity tools into daily workflows to optimize contract review, issue spotting, drafting, and negotiation preparation.
  • Answer day-to-day contract questions from internal stakeholders and keep pace with legal developments in SaaS, AI, data privacy, and cloud technologies.
About You
  • You have 1-3 years of commercial contracting experience in-house at a technology company or at a law firm with a SaaS client focus, along with a J.D. and active state bar membership.
  • You have hands-on experience negotiating critical terms like Limitations of Liability, Indemnification, IP Rights, and Data Security, plus experience with NDAs, DPAs, or BAAs.
  • You produce clear, concise redlines and can calibrate your communication for legal, business, and technical audiences.
  • You are process-oriented, curious about AI legal tools, and thrive when managing multiple concurrent deal streams under tight timelines.
  • You are authorized to work in the United States. Please note that at this time, Everlaw is not sponsoring U.S. employment visas for this role.
Bonus points
  • Experience with Ironclad or a comparable CLM platform.
  • Experience at a B2B SaaS or legal technology company.
  • Experience supporting a sales team in a high-growth environment.
The Team - Legal

The Legal team advances Everlaw's business while protecting the company, with a rare alignment between its work and Everlaw's purpose of serving the rule of law. Across commercial, corporate, product, employment, compliance, and privacy matters, the team translates complex obligations and risks into practical guidance that helps the business move forward. This work protects the trust Everlaw's built on and helps transform the practice of law responsibly.

Total Rewards & Benefits

The expected salary range for this role is between $148,000 and $187,000. The final offered salary will be dependent upon many factors including the candidate's experience and skills. The role's compensation is subject to change in the future.

Health & well-being
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Flexible Spending Accounts for health and dependent care expenses
  • Membership to Modern Health to support mental health and wellness
  • Paid parental leave
  • Company-sponsored life and disability insurance
Financial rewards
  • Competitive equity grants, so you share in Everlaw's long-term growth
  • 401(k) plan with company matching of up to 4% of eligible annual compensation
Growth & everyday perks
  • 17 paid vacation days, 11 federal holidays, and paid sick leave
  • Four "Everlawlidays" (additional paid company-wide days off) per year
  • Annual allocation for learning & development and relevant professional membership dues
  • Hybrid work with regular work-from-home days and flexibility for life's logistics
  • Monthly home internet reimbursement, plus a stipend for your desk setup
  • Catered lunch each workday, plus snacks and company-wide events in our offices
About Everlaw

When a lawsuit or investigation happens, teams must comb through vast amounts of electronic evidence - emails, documents, chats, files - to find what matters. That work is not a side task but the case itself, and where most of the time and money in litigation goes. Everlaw is the litigation and investigation management platform changing that, using AI to turn mountains of messy data into the handful of facts that win or lose a case, compressing weeks of work into hours.

We're the kind of place that's ranked #1 on G2 in our category and named a Great Place to Work™ by our own team. So if you want a front row seat to an industry in transformation, career-defining work you'll be proud to tell people about, and real upside at a company in control of its own destiny, we'd love to get to know you.
