Job description

*This role is 100% onsite, no possibility for remote or hybrid work*
MMI Engineered Solutions is currently seeking a Rotational Applications Engineer to join our engineering team. This position is designed to provide hands-on experience across multiple disciplines within the organization, helping develop a broad understanding of manufacturing, quality, operations, and applications engineering prior to transitioning into a full-time Applications Engineering role. The rotational program follows a structured schedule while also allowing flexibility to support business needs.
Approximate Rotation Schedule:
Manufacturing Engineering - July through December 2026
Quality Engineering - January through June 2027
Operations - July through December 2027
Applications Engineering - January 2028
Key Responsibilities:
  • Support manufacturing, quality, operations, and engineering teams through assigned rotational projects
  • Assist with troubleshooting equipment and supporting production uptime
  • Create and update process documentation, work instructions, and process books
  • Participate in sample runs, inspections, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Inspect products and processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer requirements
  • Maintain quality documentation, gages, inspection records, and ERP system updates
  • Support mold changeovers, setup preparation, and tooling organization activities
  • Apply 5S and lean manufacturing principles within production environments
  • Assist with process improvement and operational efficiency projects
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, production, and quality teams
  • Follow all company safety policies and stop processes when safety or quality concerns arise
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required
  • Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and analytical data
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • High level of initiative, integrity, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Work Environment:
  • Office-based role with approximately 25% of time spent in the manufacturing environment
  • Regular interaction with production, engineering, quality, and operations teams
  • Exposure to manufacturing equipment, noise, and industrial environments while following all safety and PPE requirements
