Job description

Position Overview:
A Project Engineer for Construction Materials Engineering and Testing (CMET) will assist with projects while maintaining our high standards of services. Projects and clients will be varied, ranging from public to private, roads to structures, simple to complex. A CMET Project Engineer will manage all aspects of the project life cycle, including: business development, proposal preparation, execution of services and completion of reports. A CMET Project Engineer will work amongst a group of engineers and will mentor junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage testing for construction materials for various project types and sizes, including public and private
  • Collaborate with staff engineers and project engineers working within the department
  • Market CMET services via building client connections and preparation of proposals
  • Manage various clients, ensuring customer satisfaction through timely delivery of high-quality reports and completion of the services within the expected budget
  • Able to visit project sites and provide onsite testing where required

Experience & Qualifications:
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, or project engineering
  • Knowledge of field testing procedures for construction materials
  • Knowledge of laboratory testing procedures for construction materials
  • Experienced in client management, business development and marketing
