JOB OVERVIEW:

Under the general guidance of the Room Service Manager, the Overnightย Room Service Server is responsible for delivering food and beverage orders to guest rooms in a timely, courteous, and professional manner. This role ensures that each in-room dining experience reflects the hotel's service standards and brand values. The Room Service Server plays a key role in creating a personalized and seamless guest experience by maintaining attention to detail, cleanliness, and exceptional service throughout each interaction.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver food and beverage orders promptly and professionally to guest rooms, ensuring accuracy and presentation meet hotel standards.
  • Provide exceptional guest service by anticipating needs, accommodating special requests, and maintaining a courteous and polished demeanor.
  • Set up and clear in-room dining trays or tables according to standard procedures, ensuring cleanliness and attention to detail.
  • Communicate effectively with the kitchen and order takers to ensure seamless coordination and timely delivery.
  • Handle guest concerns or complaints with professionalism, escalating issues to the supervisor when necessary.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of service areas, including pantries and hallways.
  • Follow all health, hygiene, and safety regulations, including proper food handling procedures.
  • Ensure all checks are properly closed and signed, and follow correct cash and charge handling procedures.
  • Restock room service equipment, supplies, and amenities as needed during and after shift.
  • Maintain knowledge of menu offerings, ingredients, and potential allergens to confidently answer guest questions and make recommendations.
  • Any other reasonable duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
  • We recognize we are in the hospitality industry and that may require us to provide lateral service.ย 
  • We will on occasion call for each individual in the team to, on a routine basis perform various related tasks as needed in the spirit of providing exceptional guest service.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to provide clear direction to the venue teams.
  • Communicate with team members using a positive and clear speaking voice, listen to and understand requests, respond with appropriate actions and provide accurate information.
  • Remain calm and alert, especially during emergency situations.
  • Make decisions and take actions based on previous experience and good judgment, sometimes revising procedures to accommodate unusual situations.
