Job description

Are you a Commercial Roofing Service Expert?

The service foreman is the front line of the service department and must be well versed in all commercial roofing systems, including BUR, MB, ethylene propylene diene terpolymer (EPDM), thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), metal, shingle, and others as needed roof systems.

Beyond the technical roofing knowledge, the service foreman needs to be proficient in field technology. The service foreman must possess a keen attention to detail which will allow them to make inspection roof reports and appropriate repair recommendations. They must be able to track leaks back to their original cause and determine the best course of action for repair. Additionally, the service foreman is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, preventative maintenance reports, and inventory stock for their service vehicle. The service foreman must be able to manage and be responsible for subordinate personnel, including tracking their time, safety, and training. They must possess the skills to communicate clearly with the client, other trades, service superintendents, and account managers.

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications or training in roofing repairs, man lift operation, and OSHA certification are preferred.

- Proven experience as a Roofing Foreman or similar role, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial roofing repairs.

- In-depth knowledge of various roofing systems, materials, and repair techniques.

- Familiarity with roofing manufacturer warranty requirements and the ability to adhere to them during repairs and installations.

- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively guide and supervise a team.

- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a keen attention to detail.

- Ability to read and interpret project plans, specifications, and blueprints.

- Proficiency in using tools and equipment commonly used in commercial roofing repairs.

- Understanding of safety regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

- Possession of a valid man lift certification and OSHA certification.

- Physical stamina and the ability to work at heights, in varying weather conditions, and in demanding environments.

- Willingness and ability to work long hours and weekends as needed to meet project deadlines.

- Familiarity and proficiency with technology, including the ability to use apps and Centerpoint Connect systems (a plus).

- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
