Job description

The Project Engineer, with the assistance of the Project Team, coordinates all project activities to ensure cost, schedule, document control and quality standards are met. Under the direction of upper Management, the Project Engineer is expected to take on any/all tasks in the quest to learn the Electrical Construction Industry and the Company’s processes.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with Design Work: Support more experienced engineers in designing electrical systems, components, etc. This may involve using software tools to create schematics, drawings, or models.
  • Documentation: Keeping accurate records and documentation is crucial in engineering. Engineers/apm responsible for documenting their work, writing reports, and maintaining records of design specifications and test results.
  • Collaboration: Engineers often collaborate with other engineers, and project personnel from different disciplines to complete projects and solve problems.
  • Learning and Professional Development: engineers spend time learning about the company's products, processes, and industry standards. They may also participate in training programs to enhance their technical skills and knowledge.
  • Fieldwork: Depending on the nature of the projects, engineers are required to visit job sites, participate in field installations, or assist in commissioning electrical systems.
  • Adhering to Codes and Standards: Engineers must familiarize themselves with relevant codes, standards, and regulations governing electrical design and installation to ensure that their work complies with legal and safety requirements.
  • Track Electrical installations and redline installation on field
  • Continuous Improvement: Engineers are encouraged to seek feedback, learn from their experiences, and continuously improve their skills. They may be assigned mentors or supervisors who provide guidance and support in their professional development

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work with a team.
  • Having organizational skills.
  • Ability to perform different tasks at the same time.
  • Having technical knowledge
  • Ability to follow precise instructions.
  • Having IT skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office.
  • Being able to solve different types of problems.
  • Having good communication skills.
  • Being familiar with regulatory standards pertaining to the power industry.
  • 2D cad drawing Experience
  • Familiar with NYC Electrical code
  • Read and interpretate Electrical Drawings
  • Create Excell spread sheets based off of schedule
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Education/Certifications

  • A College degree in Electrical Engineering required
  • PMP certificate a plus
  • SST certificate
  • Osha certificate
