Job Title: Operations Program Manager Location: Sterling Heights, MI Employment Type: Full-Time Salary: Exempt About the Company We are a growing defense contractor supporting critical programs for major U.S. defense primes. With a workforce of approximately 75-100 employees, we deliver specialized manufacturing and engineering capabilities that support mission critical platforms and systems.

Position Summary The Operations Program Manager (OPM) is responsible for leading, coordinating, and executing program activities across manufacturing, supply chain, quality, engineering, and customer-facing functions. This role ensures successful performance of contracts for large prime contractors by maintaining schedule adherence, cost control, compliance, and product quality while driving continuous operational improvement. The OPM serves as the central point of communication for assigned programs and works cross functionally to ensure all operational requirements are met from order award through delivery. Key Responsibilities * Manage end to end program execution for assigned defense contracts, ensuring delivery to customer requirements for scope, cost, schedule, and quality. * Serve as primary internal program lead, coordinating across production, engineering, supply chain, quality, and finance. * Track, analyze, and report program performance metrics, including schedule risk, cost variance, production throughput, and material readiness. * Lead or support customer meetings, program reviews, audits, and data calls with large prime contractors. * Develop and maintain program plans, schedules, risk registers, and action item lists. * Monitor supply chain constraints, material shortages, and production readiness; escalate and resolve issues proactively. * Support proposal development, cost estimating, and planning activities for follow on work or new opportunities. * Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, export regulations, cybersecurity requirements, and industry standards (ISO/AS/QMS as applicable). * Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize workflow, reduce cost, and enhance delivery performance. * Lead cross-functional problem-solving efforts to address production issues, quality concerns, or schedule risks. * Maintain accurate program documentation and interface with internal ERP/MRP systems. Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field (or equivalent experience). * 5+ years of experience in programs, operations, or project management, preferably within the defense, aerospace, or manufacturing sectors. * Strong understanding of manufacturing environments, production planning, and supply chain processes. * Experience supporting contracts or subcontracts for large defense prime contractors. * Knowledge of program controls, cost tracking, and earned value concepts is preferred. * Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced, highly regulated environment. * Excellent organizational, communication, and customer facing skills. * Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with scheduling tools is a plus. * Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance if required.
