COMPANY SUMMARY
LandSolutions is actively engaged in all areas of land access, including Power (Generation and Transmission), Public Infrastructure, Renewable Energy, Oil and Gas (Upstream and Midstream), and Telecommunications. Our expert level service and subject matter experts are well-established across the United States and Canada.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Right-of-Way (ROW) Agent is responsible for acquiring, negotiating, and securing land rights required for utility, transmission, renewable energy, pipeline, and infrastructure projects. This position serves as the primary liaison between project stakeholders, landowners, regulatory agencies, and project teams to facilitate successful land access, right-of-way acquisition, easements, licenses, and related agreements while maintaining positive stakeholder relationships.
This position is based in Phoenix or Prescott, Arizona, with hybrid work arrangements available for candidates located within commuting distance of either office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Acquire and secure land rights, easements, rights-of-way, licenses, permits, and other property interests necessary for project development and construction.
  • Conduct landowner outreach, negotiations, and stakeholder engagement activities related to project requirements.
  • Review land titles, ownership records, surveys, legal descriptions, and other property-related documentation.
  • Negotiate compensation agreements, damage settlements, temporary workspace agreements, and access arrangements with landowners.
  • Coordinate with project managers, legal counsel, surveyors, engineers, and environmental specialists to support project execution.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain accurate records of agreements, correspondence, and project documentation.
  • Support route selection and project planning activities through property research and landowner impact assessments.
  • Attend landowner meetings, public consultations, and stakeholder engagement events as required.
  • Identify and address land-related risks, conflicts, and project constraints, recommending appropriate solutions.
  • Monitor project schedules and ensure land acquisition activities align with construction and operational timelines.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable regulations, corporate policies, and industry best practices.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with landowners, Indigenous communities, regulatory agencies, municipal representatives, and other stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
  • Bachelor's degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in Land Administration, Real Estate, Planning, Business, Agriculture, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of Right-of-Way, Land Agent, Surface Land, or Land Acquisition experience.
  • Experience negotiating easements, rights-of-way, access agreements, licenses, permits, and land acquisition agreements.
  • Knowledge of land title systems, legal land descriptions, survey plans, and property ownership research.
  • Experience working with utility, transmission, pipeline, renewable energy, transportation, or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, negotiation, conflict resolution, and relationship-management skills.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, route alignments, construction plans, and survey documentation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with land systems, GIS platforms, and property research tools.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional project teams.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required.
  • Railroad permitting experience is considered an asset.
