OVERVIEW:

The Reverse Engineering Drafter will report directly to the Technical Support Manager and be responsible for reverse engineering of parts, assemblies, and the workscopes therein.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Read and understand AutoCAD drawings/sketches and standards
  • Consult with the engineering team while utilizing design concepts and determining requirements for detailed working drawings
  • Measuring parts using instruments such as electronic metrology equipment, rulers, calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.
  • Collaborate with pump shop employees to gather critical data/information for reverse engineering
  • Effectively communicate with customer service personnel to ensure updates are provided on job progress and needs/hold points are effectively communicated
  • Reverse engineering pump parts such as impellers, pump cases, bearing houses, etc.
  • RFQ basics - details to be checked before drawing, fill and update information
  • Make assembly models/drawings, check fitment, and ensure proper running clearances
  • Operate CMM equipment to collecting data for part development
  • First article casting inspections
  • Part repair work scope development
  • RFQ - Assign new drawing number for parts not in our database
  • Work Orders - check work order, print drawing and assign to right department

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma/GED and/or 3+ years of equivalent work experience
  • Drafting or equivalent technical degree preferred
  • Desire to grow beyond the current scope of drafter duties and responsibilities
  • Able to communicate effectively and professionally. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Previous experience working as a member of a successful team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Inventor Cam and Master Cam experience
  • AutoCAD experience
  • Reverse Engineering Pump Parts experience
