Description
Tyler Technologies is seeking a Manager of Revenue Recognition to support and enhance our company-wide revenue recognition processes. Reporting to the Director of Revenue Recognition, this role plays a critical part in partnering with Sales, Revenue Operations, and Legal to guide contract structuring, ensure compliance with ASC 606, and drive optimal business outcomes. The Manager will serve as a technical accounting expert and a leader within the revenue recognition function.
 
Responsibilities
  • Apply strong technical accounting expertise to review, assess, document, and justify revenue recognition conclusions under ASC 606, ensuring compliance with GAAP while supporting favorable business results.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing revenue recognition team by providing ongoing coaching, training, performance evaluation, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Build and maintain effective cross-functional relationships to promote revenue recognition awareness and alignment throughout the contract lifecycle.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with internal and external auditors, addressing revenue-related inquiries and supporting audit procedures.
  • Provide regular updates, reporting, and insights to senior leadership regarding team activities, contract reviews, and key revenue considerations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of contract reviews, offering guidance and support to team members to maintain compliance with standards and deadlines.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in accounting or business administration required; CPA strongly preferred.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on ASC 606 experience, including complex revenue arrangements.
  • Minimum 2 years of team leadership or management experience.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with a willingness to take a hands-on approach.
  • Proven experience managing and developing skilled professionals, providing technical guidance and constructive feedback.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet critical deadlines and adapt to shifting priorities while maintaining high-quality work.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
