Job description

The Part-Time Staff Accountant is responsible for managing key aspects within finance and accounting, including accounts receivable functions, reporting, accruals, and assisting in the month-end close process. This role requires strong attention to detail, adherence to deadlines, and collaboration across departments to support financial accuracy and operational efficiency.
The Purpose of Your Role
As a Part-Time Staff Accountant, you contribute to the success of the finance department by supporting core accounting functions, ensuring timely completion of assigned tasks, and maintaining strong working relationships with internal teams and external clients. This role applies accounting expertise, including revenue recognition principles, to support departmental goals and maintain compliance with financial standards.
This is a part-time role, expected to work approximately 10-20 hours per week with flexibility around key close periods.
The Qualifications We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience (call center or BPO industry experience a plus)
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables required)
  • Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems preferred
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP
  • Experience working in a SOX 404 environment a plus
  • Ability to work a part-time schedule while meeting deadlines and business needs
  • Regularly operates a computer and other standard office equipment
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods
  • Frequent communication with internal stakeholders and external clients

The Value You Deliver
  • Perform month-end close responsibilities, including accruals, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations (e.g., bad debt reserve, deferred revenue amortization)
  • Prepare weekly AR aging and cash receipts reports for management
  • Coordinate with clients on invoicing, past due balances, and billing inquiries
  • Review AR aging and proactively follow up on outstanding balances
  • Calculate and prepare invoices per contractual terms
  • Provide account reconciliations and financial analysis to clients as requested
  • Ensure revenue recognition complies with GAAP
  • Assist with internal and external audits
  • Support the finance team with additional tasks as needed
