We are small and we are local. VBA CPAs staff members enjoy having the privilege of working in an environment where we are able to get to know one another and work closely together to ensure that our clients benefit from the expertise of the firm as a whole. We provide an alternative to the big firm environment. Our atmosphere is fun, straightforward, and family friendly. We intend to keep our operation simple and focused on the needs of our clients.
About the Position:
The ideal candidate will have experience in a wide range of tax return preparation with the focus being on Individual Tax Returns. Tax planning and tax research will also be required for this position. Additional skills with business tax, personal property tax, trust, estate, and nonprofit tax returns are a plus. This person will be responsible for managing client tax engagements and supervision of busy season tax interns.
Responsibilities:
Research, organize and review client tax documentation
Prepare Individual income tax returns
Maintain compliance with tax regulations
Reviews federal and state income tax returns for individuals
Handles federal, state and local tax audits and letters.
Prepares research memoranda, written correspondence/guidance, and other documents for submission to the IRS or other taxing authorities.
Trains and supervises staff, reviews and evaluates their work.
Manages multiple clients, budgets and production goals.
Skills:
Skilled at building relationships and interacting with clients to provide excellent planning, consulting and expertise
Excellent communication skills with clients and team
Skilled at delegation to appropriate staff and ability to coach
Good at meeting deadlines and solving problems
Strong leadership and personnel management skills
Analytical skills with detail orientation

Qualifications:
Current CPA license
8 + years of recent public accounting experience
Knowledge of Federal, State and Local tax regulations
Knowledge of CCH products is a plus, including Axcess Tax, Axcess Practice, and Prosystem fx Engagement
Knowledge of QuickBooks is a plus
