Temporary Retreat Director
Diocese of Green Bay / Curia/ Camp Tekakwitha
Temporary, Non-Benefit Eligible
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will be full-time for three months (August-October) as a temporary fill. The temporary retreat director will be responsible for overseeing our fall retreat season at Camp Tekakwitha, primarily coordinating and facilitating the scheduled retreats while overseeing our missionary program. This person will collaborate with the Camp Director in necessary Camp operations, programming execution, and formation needs to best support our retreat season.
A strong Catholic faith and commitment to the mission of Camp Tekakwitha and the Diocese of Green Bay is required. The ideal candidate is a missionary disciple who has a desire to serve the retreatants, staff, and community deeply rooted in the Catholic faith.
Camp Tekakwitha is an outdoor ministry of the Catholic Diocese of Green Bay, established to invite and guide young people into a deeper encounter with Jesus Christ amidst the beauty of God's natural creation.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driverโ€™s license.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or higher preferred.
  • First aid/CPR certified (or willing to be trained).
  • Understand and support the mission, vision, and values of the Diocese of Green Bay and Camp Tekakwitha.
  • Preferred teaching experience. Demonstrate experience in development and facilitation of scheduling, program implementation, and sound judgment in the face of conflict.
  • Competency in aligning to mission/vision, state regulations, and ACA standards.
  • Strong relational ability to serve as a member of a team, lead the missionary program, and work in small groups with individuals of all backgrounds and ages.
  • Methodical, logical, patient, careful, detail-oriented, and accurate.
    • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft office and Google.
    • Adaptable to new situations, working well under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
    • Maintain good time and project management for meeting deadlines.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Develop schedules, build curriculum, and run formative programs.
  • Strong supervisory skills including collaborative decision-making and conflict management.
  • Hospitable and able to communicate effectively and joyfully with the team and guests.
