Job description

Symetra has an exciting opportunity to join our growing Annuity IMO Channel team as a Relationship Manager!

About the role

As a Relationship Manager, you will manage and develop operational relationships within your aligned Retirement Division distribution partners to drive sales growth for both Symetra and your aligned accounts. You will bring a strong understanding of Symetra products and capabilities and align with partner needs and objectives.

What you will do

  • Develop thorough understanding of distribution partners' operational processes including new business processing method, technology, selling agreements, etc.
  • Partner with internal teams to solve operational issues from distribution partners based on priority and capacity. Follows up to ensure resolution. Catalogs and documents issue description and resolution outcome.
  • Align needs of distribution partner with Symetra capabilities through regular contact and meetings with IMO leaders and back office teams.
  • Attend sales meetings and quarterly update meetings for key assigned relationships
  • Prepare and submit monthly account summaries and sales analysis submitted to the Channel Vice President each month.
  • Develop and adhere to strategic business planning efforts for aligned partners.
  • Work with aligned internal partners to support launch of products and services for external partners by participating in various working groups to drive activities and provide needed context
  • Work with sales management and external wholesalers to drive sales expansion
  • Communicate with external wholesalers, internal wholesalers and sales effectiveness teams to ensure proper account coverage
  • Work with the broader relationship management team to share best practices and key strategies

Compensation

Base salary: $100,000 plus eligibility for incentive compensation

Who you are

  • High school diploma required
  • BA in liberal arts, business or communications - or equivalent work experience required
  • 10-15 years in insurance, banking, brokerage or investments
  • Relationship Management experience with annuity programs, IMO preferred
  • Currently holding Series 6/63 and Life Insurance License (or willingness to obtain)
  • Presentation skills; sales and training background; experience with other carriers and on the partner side
