Job description

The Retail Wine & Cigar Manager oversees all aspects of store operations, supervising Retail Supervisors and
associates to ensure excellence in customer experience, sales performance, merchandising, and operational
standards. This role requires a results-driven leader with a deep understanding of retail strategy, wine knowledge,
cigar knowledge, staff development, and brand integrity. The Retail Wine & Cigar Manager serves as the key liaison
between senior management and the retail floor, driving profitability while maintaining the highest levels of
service and presentation expected at the World Equestrian Center.
Primary Responsibilities:
โ€ข Leadership & Team Development
โ€ข Lead, train, and motivate associates to achieve sales goals, operational excellence, and superior customer
service.
โ€ข Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
โ€ข Conduct regular performance evaluations and create development plans to support career growth.
โ€ข Recruit, onboard, and train new staff to meet evolving business needs.
โ€ข Lead with Quality, Class and Distinction.
โ€ข Operational Management
โ€ข Oversee daily store operations, ensuring compliance with all company policies, procedures, and
standards.
โ€ข Manage scheduling, payroll accuracy, and staffing levels to support business demand.
โ€ข Ensure adherence to loss prevention, safety, and security protocols.
โ€ข Maintain a visually appealing and organized retail environment consistent with brand presentation
standards.
โ€ข Work with the Beverage Manager to schedule weekly/monthly tastings and experiences
โ€ข Assist and collaborate with Beverage Leadership on the planning and execution of special events and
tastings.
โ€ข Sales & Financial Performance
โ€ข Drive store profitability by setting sales goals, analyzing trends, and implementing strategic initiatives to
increase revenue.
โ€ข Manage store budgets, control expenses, and ensure efficient allocation of resources.
โ€ข Collaborate with the merchandising team on promotional strategies and product launches.
โ€ข Inventory & Merchandising
โ€ข Oversee accurate inventory management for month end retail counts.
โ€ข Coordinate with vendors and logistics to ensure timely and accurate product deliveries.
โ€ข Supervise product placement, display setup, and in-store visual standards to enhance guest engagement
and drive sales.
โ€ข Collaborate and partner with Beverage Leadership on inventory updates.

โ€ข Ensure every guest receives a premium shopping experience aligned with WEC's service standards.
โ€ข Proactively resolve escalated customer issues with professionalism and empathy.
โ€ข Develop and implement customer engagement initiatives to build loyalty and repeat business.
โ€ข Create and support experiences in the reserve lounge for locker members and guests.
โ€ข Administrative & Reporting Duties
โ€ข Prepare and analyze weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports on sales trends, inventory levels, and staff
performance.
โ€ข Participate in management meetings and contribute to long-term retail and food and beverage strategy
planning.
โ€ข Ensure compliance with all labor laws and internal HR policies.
โ€ข Ensure compliance with all Florida Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) laws and regulations.
โ€ข Complete and oversee bi-weekly payroll process for riders in Harry & Henry's

Physical Requirements:
โ€ข Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
โ€ข Capable of lifting up to 40 pounds and performing stockroom and merchandising duties.
โ€ข Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, and movement throughout the sales floor.
Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:
โ€ข Bachelor's degree in Business, Retail Management, or related field preferred.
โ€ข 5+ years of progressive retail management experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role
overseeing multiple staff members or departments.
โ€ข Proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets and operational goals.
โ€ข Strong understanding of retail KPIs, inventory control, and merchandising principles.
โ€ข Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
โ€ข Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
โ€ข Proficient in POS systems, inventory software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
โ€ข Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
