Description

 POSITION SUMMARY 

The Firearms Instructor is responsible for teaching established curriculum and adhering to class schedules. The Instructor is responsible for ensuring complete customer satisfaction with education offered.  Additionally, the instructor will participate in retail sales as deemed appropriate by the General Manager and will function as Range Safety Officer as needed.


PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES 

Achieve Results 

  1. Identifies current and future client requirements through established rapport while maintaining strong product educational knowledge and market trends in education. 
  2. Monitors class outcomes through evaluation reviews and personal observation. 
  3. Executes a sales pace that is commensurate with company goals. 

Operational Excellence 

  1. Maintain the stability and reputation of the store by complying with all legal and health requirements. 
  2. Ensures the range and facility are clean and safe. 
  3. Facilitates special events and classes as directed, with enthusiasm, knowledge and keen customer service. 
  4. Reports daily to the Director of Training as to any operational issues that might need addressed. 

Relationships 

  1. Establish and ensure collaborative, supporting relationships within the entire organization.  
  2. Establish and maintain positive, effective relationships with key resources, including external vendors, trainers outside of FJ who will pay for space, and customers. 

Requirements

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/ Key Competencies 

  • Firm grasp of technology to execute accurate job function as it relates to class structure as well as Point of Sales systems 
  • Teach classes as assigned 

EDUCATION 

High school diploma required, with college hours preferred.


EXPERIENCE 

Preferably 3-5 years firearms education and/or range safety officer duties. 

Minimum of NRA/USCCA Certified Pistol Instructor Certification 


OTHER 

  • Normal overtime/extended work hours.  
  • Must be able to physically audit and inspect all operations. 
  • Must be able to be on feet for extended periods of time.Â
