PART TIME RESEARCH ENGINEER
Nanofabrication Cleanroom
New York University Tandon School of Engineering
The NYU Nanofabrication Facility (NYU Nanofab) provides open-access semiconductor fabrication services to the research community at NYU and external institutions. NYU Nanofab has accumulated fabrication expertise in the broad area of quantum devices made of superconducting and semiconductor materials. To establish these activities into accessible documents and support the underlying infrastructure, NYU Nanofab is seeking to hire a part-time research engineer to assist with these ongoing activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following activities:
  • Updating existing Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documents for fabrication and characterization tools
  • Validating updated SOPs in collaboration with cognizant Nanofab staff
  • Updating the tool management and infrastructure tracking programs
  • Supporting process documentation for superconducting and semiconductor quantum device fabrication workflows
  • Applicants should possess a proven track record in nanofabrication, process documentation, and scientific writing. A publication record demonstrating hands-on research experience is necessary.

SALARY RANGE
In accordance with the NYC Pay Transparency Act, the part time base salary for this role is $26.37 per hour, commensurate with the candidate's professional experience and qualifications.
EXPECTED START DATE AND PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT
The anticipated start date is June 16, 2026. This appointment is for a duration of up to 3 months, contingent upon the availability of funds.The part-time schedule requires a commitment of approximately 10 hours per week.
Qualifications
Candidates are expected to hold at least a MS in Materials Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline for at least 3 years of hands-on experience. Proof of eligibility to work in the United States is required.
