We are looking for:
Research Engineer:
  • The Research Engineer is responsible for leading research and development projects in support of existing process improvement and new process development.

We count on you for:
  • Maintains a safe work environment for self and others.
  • Studies existing processes to develop a deeper understanding and provide new insights through a combination of experimentation and data analysis.
  • Define process improvement opportunities leading to improvements in productivity, quality, and cost.
  • Leads or assists in the scale-up of new molecules from laboratory/pilot plant to commercial scale.
  • Designs new and/or improved unit operations.
  • Improves existing chemical processes.
  • Provides technical support to plant operations.
  • Assists in the review and monitoring of patent/scientific literature relevant to the business.
  • Leads or assists in external programs with universities/institutions or other Syensqo entities to evaluate emerging technologies and work with Marketing to develop commercial opportunities.
  • Facilitates the development and professional growth of assigned technician(s).
  • Participates in peer and area coordinator safety audits and attend all required safety meetings & training any other duties required by the business.

You will bring:
  • Education: Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering (perferred) or related discipline (desirable experience)
  • Ability to develop new processes and scale up to commercial production with good understanding of scale up issues.
  • Knowledge of polymer processing and characterization.
  • Experience with analytical chemistry, statistical experimental design, and treatment of data.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Strong communications skills (oral and written).
  • Demonstrated leadership ability

  • Competitive salary and benefits package
  • The U.S. annual base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this new hire is: $98,720 to $123,400. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate, including skills, experience, and qualifications. It can ultimately be more or less than the posted salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
  • 16 or more weeks of maternity/paternity and co-parenting leave, according to local regulations.
