Job Description

Purpose:

The Research Engineer IV will conduct experimental research on emerging electronic and optoelectronic materials and devices for next-generation AI hardware applications. The candidate is expected to have research experience on semiconductor materials and devices, nanomaterial synthesis and processing, nanofabrication, microscopic and spectroscopic characterization of materials, as well as testing of electronic or optoelectronic devices. The research engineer will also assist and advise graduate and undergraduate students in the group. We are looking to hire a candidate who is a team player and who will promote collaboration and cooperation while working within a team. Responsibilities:

  • Conduct experimental research on emerging electronic and optoelectronic materials and devices for next-generation AI hardware applications.
  • Assist and advise graduate and undergraduate students in the group.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What we need:

  • Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Six years of related experience.

What is helpful:

  • PhD in electrical engineering, materials science and engineering, applied physics, chemical engineering, or mechanical engineering.
  • Expertise on semiconductor materials and devices, nanomaterial synthesis and processing, nanofabrication, microscopic and spectroscopic characterization of materials, as well as testing of electronic or optoelectronic devices.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
  • Excellent writing and interpersonal communication skills.
