A growing litigation practice is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its Medical Malpractice and Professional Liability team in Raleigh, North Carolina. This attorney will defend healthcare providers and professionals in civil litigation matters and assist clients with representation before licensing boards and regulatory bodies.
The ideal candidate will have experience handling civil litigation matters, preferably involving medical malpractice, professional liability, healthcare defense, or related insurance defense work. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced litigators, participate in case strategy, develop client relationships, and take on increasing responsibility within a growing practice.
Responsibilities:
  • Represent healthcare providers in medical malpractice and professional liability matters
  • Manage all aspects of civil litigation from case evaluation through resolution
  • Assist with discovery, depositions, motions, hearings, and trial preparation
  • Develop litigation strategies in partnership with senior attorneys
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and insurers
  • Prepare legal briefs, pleadings, motions, and correspondence
  • Represent clients in matters involving professional licensing boards and administrative proceedings
  • Conduct legal research and analyze complex legal issues
  • Support business development and client relationship initiatives

Qualifications:
  • Active member in good standing of the North Carolina Bar
  • 3+ years of civil litigation experience preferred
  • Experience in medical malpractice, professional liability, healthcare defense, or insurance defense preferred
