We are seeking a Vice President of Sales & Marketing to join their growing organization. The Vice President will report directly to the President. This person will have to work closely with the VP of Engineering and the engineering team. The VP of Sales & Marketing will be a member of the Board of Directors and report to the Chairman of the Company.
Responsibilities:
This individual will be responsible for developing and managing the sales and marketing department, and will be measured based on performance against both short term and long term goals. Idea generation and creativity in this position are a must, as are the ability to work with deadlines, manage and complete sales projects through commercialization, and develop creative techniques in the technical sale of concepts and products.
Major components of this position will include:
  • Assist in molding the strategic direction of company
  • Develop and implement business development plan for company
  • Execute marketing plan and continually update
  • Develop sales forecast with accuracy month to month
  • Manage sales team ensuring proper level and use of resources
  • Selection and use of proper information technology including CRM software
  • Work with engineering to develop products to match customer and market needs uncovered through contact with customers and prospects
  • Manage overseas Sales offices

Position Specifications:
  • The successful candidate will possess a proven track record of project delivery, with a strong business profit orientation.
  • Knowledge of technical products, including the ability to learn new products/concepts quickly.
  • Strong sense of urgency.
  • Ability to execute quickly.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Strong decision making capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated customer interface skills utilizing multiple methods of communication.

Requirements:
  • 5 years minimum of strong sales experience of technical products.
  • Must have strong business development skills and be able to talk with prospects and pick up concepts quickly.
  • Must possess excellent presentation skills
  • Must have proven track record of closing deals and executing contracts.
  • Must be able to demonstrate ability to meet and sell to customers face-to-face, and create solutions during such meetings.
  • Must be resilient and able to overcome classic sales barriers like an unwillingness to change or try new things.
  • Must be energetic and willing to do what it takes.
  • MBA is not required, but strongly preferred.
  • The position will require approximately 25% - 30% travel to visit customers and prospect; there will be some periods where travel may be up to 50%.
