This position works a Sunday - Thursday schedule and is in-office every day at our East Point location. This individual must be available to work weekend and flexible hours.

About the Role: 

The Supervisor, Operations (SERC Produce Repack) at the Atlanta Community Food Bank is essential in overseeing the daily repacking operations of fresh produce, ensuring that food items are safely and efficiently prepared for distribution to our community partners. This role focuses on supporting our mission by managing day-to-day workflow, supervising a dedicated team, and maintaining high standards of quality and food safety. This individual ensures that operations run smoothly and that team members are trained, supported, and motivated to achieve their goals, reducing waste and maximizing the impact of our food distribution programs. This position reports to the Manager II, Operations (Repack Programs).  


What You'll Do: 

Daily Operations Management:  

  • Oversee daily repack activities, streamlining workflow(s) to optimize efficiency and productivity. 
  • Manage the movement of goods from storage to manufacturing, ensuring inventory levels are maintained and waste minimized. 
  • Implement and sustain process improvements that ensure a consistent and efficient flow of materials to meet production demand while optimizing inventory accuracy, throughput, and service levels. 

Quality Assurance and Food Safety: 

  • Conduct regular quality checks to ensure product safety and compliance with standards. 
  • Collaborate with Supply and Receiving teams to uphold food safety regulations. 
  • Become USDA certified by taking the training course and passing the examination. 
  • Ensure team adherence to safety protocols, including USDA guidelines, to maintain safe food handling. 

Leads a Successful Team:  

  • Direct daily operational execution through effective scheduling, team leadership, and performance oversight to ensure seamless workflow and on-time completion of critical tasks.  
  • Monitor employee performance and provide real-time coaching and feedback to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. 
  • Train and onboard new team members, ensuring they are familiar with organizational systems, tools, and procedures. 
  • Report daily shift progress and metrics to management, ensuring clear communication on goals, performance, and areas for improvement. 
  • Foster a positive and inclusive team environment, encouraging collaboration, accountability, and open communication among staff. 
  • Work collaboratively with staff to support repacking operations, ensuring efficient execution, adherence to quality standards, and achievement of daily production goals.

What You'll Need:  Skills and Experience your resume should demonstrate: 

  • Bilingual (English / Spanish) is preferred but not required.  
  • Demonstrated experience managing or overseeing daily operations in food distribution, warehouse, or production settings. 
  • Ability to optimize workflow(s) and streamline processes for efficiency and productivity. 
  • Knowledgeable in inventory management to maintain adequate stock and reduce waste. 
  • Familiarity with quality control processes to ensure product safety and compliance. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, managers, and other departments. 
  • Ability to maintain open, transparent communication within the team and foster a positive work environment. 
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage shift schedules, and coordinate team activities efficiently. 
  • Skilled in tracking operational metrics and reporting on daily progress, goals, and improvement areas.
