A Repack Specialist will quickly and efficiently separate and categorize damaged product and returns. Salvages and repacks breakage while maintaining accurate records of all product and repack material as it is moved in and out of the breakage room. Monitors all product code dates. This role is part of the Operations/Distribution Center team.

So let's talk about the role...

A Repack Specialist can be expected to perform the following tasks in this role as a routine part of their job:

Separates damaged product and returns; and sorts' items into categories according to DISC and condition. (50%)

  • Reworks all damaged product; sorts undamaged product by brand and package size.
  • Performs proper product rotation in accordance with FIFO or as instructed by Supervisor or Manager.
  • Properly handles damaged product, product returns and dunnage; knowledgeable in repack procedures.
  • Keeps work area clean and organized.
  • Adheres to company safety policy and procedures; operates all distribution centers equipment in a safe and courteous manner in compliance with safety standards.

Salvages saleable product by verifying code date, performing a visual inspection, cleaning product and replacing damaged dunnage where needed. (30%)

  • Repacks product appropriately ensuring that packing specifications are met.
  • Monitors product code dates on all products and applies an approved code date label to all items repacked with code date label reflecting the oldest date inside the case when multiple dates are repacked together.
  • Follows established product handling procedures regarding condition and appearance.

Performs required inventory and delivery documentation accurately to ensure inventory levels are correct and compliant with company standards. (10%)

* This position must be able to work a flexible work schedule; some evenings and weekend shifts maybe required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to pull/push a load up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires heavy and repetitive lifting/placement of products.
  • Bends, stoops, squats, kneels, crouches, crawls, climbs ladders and stairs, stands, walks, and turns/pivots frequently throughout duration of workday.
  • Requires ability to tolerate working in an environment with inside/outside ambient/extreme temperatures.
  • Must be able to work in noisy and crowded environments.
  • Driving may be required during the workday.
  • Ability to operate facility equipment required for role.
  • Ability to use a personal computer for tasks such as communicating via email, preparing reports and other forms of documentation using company and industry software.
