Summary

The Business Development Associate - Renewables is responsible for originating and converting net-new enterprise opportunities across renewable energy assets. This position is focused on outbound prospecting, account-based selling, and new logo acquisition for long-term operations and maintenance (O&M) and lifecycle services across distributed generation and utility-scale solar, battery energy storage systems (BESS), wind, and hybrid assets.

Success in this role is defined by consistent pipeline creation, disciplined qualification, and the ability to translate operational risk and performance challenges into compelling, ROI-driven commercial engagements.

Primary Duties

  • Own net-new logo acquisition through high-volume, targeted outbound prospecting across renewable asset owners, developers, EPCs, and investors.
  • Build and advance a qualified pipeline of new O&M and asset services opportunities from first contact through contract execution.
  • Identify operational, reliability, and lifecycle cost risks within renewable portfolios and position NAES as a long-term O&M partner.
  • Lead enterprise discovery with Directors, VPs, and C-suite stakeholders across operations, engineering, asset management, and finance.
  • Drive multi-site and multi-year O&M agreements by expanding from initial entry points into broader portfolios.
  • Leverage internal technical, operations, and commercial teams to shape differentiated solutions and pricing.
  • Maintain strict activity discipline, including outbound metrics, CRM hygiene, and forecast accuracy.
  • Own early-stage deal strategy, qualification, and competitive positioning through the handoff to account or delivery teams, as applicable.

Working Relationships

Reports to the VP, Business Development and has no direct reports.

Compensation

The initial compensation range is $86,800 to $99,850

Education and Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise business development, new logo sales, or consultative B2B selling.
  • Proven track record of outbound-driven pipeline creation and closed-won revenue.
  • Experience selling renewable energy services, O&M, asset management, or infrastructure solutions preferred.
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to articulate ROI, risk reduction, and lifecycle value.
  • Comfort operating in technical sales environments with long, complex buying cycles.
  • Experience managing pipeline and activity through a CRM-driven sales process.

Specific Skills and Knowledge

  • Excellent written and verbal skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate with clients and throughout all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and process skills.
  • Ability to work within preset deadlines and establish work priorities involving multiple.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite required. Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics CRM is a plus.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team in a multitask-oriented environment.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Ability to sit for long periods of time and to handle long periods of screen time.
  • Normal working hours are 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. Additional time may be required during heavy workloads or to meet deadlines.

Fit for Duty

All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes a post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post-employment random drug screening. There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the facility.
