Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough, trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate each patient’s unique history and needs, ensuring a personalized therapeutic approach.
• Create individualized treatment plans that prioritize trauma recovery, resilience-building strategies, and measurable goals aligned with client progress.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) in delivering care.
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, promoting a therapeutic space where patients can process their experiences, develop coping skills, and foster healing.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and multidisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, well-rounded care for all patients, addressing their comprehensive mental health needs.
• Provide immediate crisis intervention and support during trauma-related emergencies, ensuring the safety and stability of clients in distress.
• Educate clients and their families about trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and available community resources to empower their recovery.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation according to legal and ethical standards while navigating our EHR systems effectively.
• Participate in team meetings, case consultations, and training sessions that focus on improving trauma-informed care methods.
• Stay informed on the latest developments in trauma therapy and best practices to continually refine your therapeutic skills.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary clientele includes individuals who have experienced significant trauma, including PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Our patients often face unique challenges and require sensitive, informed approaches to therapy. As a therapist at Kanza, you will encounter diverse backgrounds and needs, requiring you to adapt your techniques and strategies to best serve each individual.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is mandatory.
• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Pennsylvania is essential.
• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience is required to ensure readiness for the complexities of trauma care.
• In-depth knowledge of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment modalities is crucial for effective client support.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with a compassionate and non-judgmental approach, are needed for successful patient interactions.
• The ability to remain calm in high-stress situations is vital for providing effective support during emergencies.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems and general proficiency in computer applications is essential for efficient workflow.
• Strong collaborative skills to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Preferred Experience

While a minimum of 2 years of experience is required, those with additional certifications in trauma-focused therapies, such as EMDR or TF-CBT, will be especially considered. Experience with diverse populations and knowledge of community resources for clients is also advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits
