This role is primarily remote, with a preference for candidates based in the Metro Atlanta area. Team members are expected to work remotely most of the time, with occasional in-office meetings and collaboration sessions as business needs require.
The Director of Total Rewards is responsible for the strategy, governance, optimization, and day-to-day leadership of Fullsteam's compensation, benefits, sales incentive, leave of absence, and workers' compensation programs across the United States and Canada.
This role is responsible for both designing and continuously improving Total Rewards programs while ensuring operational excellence in their execution. The Director partners closely with executive leadership, Finance, Sales Operations, HR Business Partners, Payroll, Legal, and external vendors to ensure programs are competitive, scalable, compliant, and aligned with business objectives.
This position requires a leader who is equally comfortable developing long-term Total Rewards strategy as they are operationalizing programs, solving complex day-to-day challenges, optimizing processes, leveraging technology and AI, and building scalable operating models that improve efficiency and employee experience.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Lead the ongoing evolution of Fullsteam's Total Rewards philosophy across the United States and Canada.
Continuously assess and optimize compensation, benefits, leave, and incentive programs to improve competitiveness, employee experience, scalability, and operational effectiveness.
Partner with leadership to align Total Rewards strategies with organizational priorities and business objectives.
Develop recommendations supported by market research, financial analysis, workforce data, and industry best practices.
Own enterprise compensation strategy and administration, including market pricing, salary structures, job architecture, job evaluations, promotion guidance, pay analyses, and compensation policies.
Partner with People Business Partners and business leaders to provide strategic guidance on compensation decisions and organizational design.
Conduct market analyses and financial modeling to support compensation recommendations while balancing external competitiveness and internal equity.
Lead compensation-related due diligence and integration activities for mergers and acquisitions.
Own the design, governance, administration, and continuous improvement of software and payments sales commission plans.
Partner with Sales Operations, Finance, and leadership to ensure incentive plans drive desired business outcomes while remaining operationally efficient and financially sustainable.
Serve as business owner for the Salesforce Spiff platform, including platform governance, administration, reporting, enhancements, vendor management, and optimization.
Develop scalable commission administration processes, documentation, governance standards, and controls to improve efficiency, transparency, and accuracy.
Lead the administration and continuous improvement of employee benefit programs across the United States and Canada, including health and welfare, retirement, disability, wellness, and voluntary benefit offerings.
Partner closely with brokers and insurance carriers to manage annual renewals, plan design, vendor performance, cost management, compliance, and employee communications.
Oversee annual enrollment activities and ongoing administration while continually evaluating opportunities to improve employee experience and program effectiveness.
Own workers' compensation administration in partnership with brokers, insurance carriers, and internal stakeholders, including claims oversight, return-to-work coordination, reporting, trend analysis, and cost management.
Develop, maintain, and continuously improve policies, standard operating procedures, governance documentation, process controls, and audit practices supporting the Total Rewards function.
Lead operational excellence initiatives across the Total Rewards function by identifying opportunities to simplify, automate, standardize, and optimize processes.
Leverage Workday, Salesforce Spiff, AI, and other technologies to improve efficiency, reporting, employee experience, and service delivery.
Develop scalable operating models that enable the team to effectively support organizational growth.
Establish meaningful metrics and reporting to measure operational effectiveness and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that encourages continuous improvement and professional growth.
Set performance goals and regularly evaluate the team's progress, providing feedback and guidance to ensure high standards are met.
Support administrative processes and initiatives to ensure effective team management and organizational success.

Experience and Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field required.
Master's degree and/or Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS), Global Remuneration Professional (GRP), or comparable certification preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience leading compensation and benefits functions, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Experience designing and administering sales compensation programs.
Salary Range:
$160,000- $195,000 USD
