Job description

Job Title: Insurance Defense Attorney (Mid-Level Associate)

Location: Remote, but must reside in Las Vegas Metropolitan Areaย 

Job Type: Full-timeย

Job Summary

Our client is in search of a proactive and analytical Insurance Defense Attorney to join their growing legal team. In this role, you will represent insured policyholders in a range of civil litigation issues, including personal injury, property damage, premises liability, and commercial disputes. You will handle a dedicated caseload from the initial assignment to resolution, providing excellent defense strategies, conducting detailed discovery, and representing clients in court and mediation.ย 


Key Responsibilities

  • Handle a full range of insurance defense files with limited oversight.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and in-depth legal evaluations for claims adjusters.
  • Conduct and defend depositions of plaintiffs, witnesses, and expert professionals.
  • Devise and implement assertive, cost-effective defense litigation strategies.
  • Represent clients at court hearings, arbitrations, mediations, and trial proceedings.
  • Prepare timely status reports to ensure compliance with carrier guidelines and billing requirements.ย 


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensure: Active member in good standing with the Nevada State Bar.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience in civil litigation in insurance defense.
  • Skills: Strong proficiency in legal research, oral advocacy, and motion practice.
  • Competencies: Exceptional time management skills to handle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Location: This position is remote, however, you must reside in the Las Vegas Metropolitan area.
