Position Overview:
Management Solutions is seeking a Technical Writer for a federal client program. This role is responsible for creating, editing, and maintaining technical documentation, including user manuals, system documentation, training materials, and standard operating procedures. The Technical Writer works closely with IT, engineering, and project teams to ensure documentation is accurate, clear, and aligned with federal government policies and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and revise technical documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency, formatting compliance, and version control.
  • Maintain document repositories and support configuration/document management processes.
  • Ensure all documentation complies with applicable federal, client, and organizational standards.
  • Assist with documenting system changes, upgrades, testing procedures, and operational workflows.
  • Participate in project meetings and working sessions to capture requirements, updates, and action items related to documentation deliverables.
  • Track documentation deliverables and support timely submission of contract deliverables and reporting requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance documentation processes, templates, and standards.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field (e.g., English, Technical Writing, Communications, or related discipline), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 years of relevant professional experience in technical writing, documentation development, or related roles.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Experience with documentation tools such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and/or MadCap Flare.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with federal government policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to obtain a federal government security clearance.

Work Authorization: U.S. Citizenship is required due to federal contract and/or security clearance requirements.
Working Conditions: This position is performed in an office environment. Employees will be required to use a computer and other office equipment for extended periods. Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods and operate a computer and standard office equipment.
