Remote Surrogacy Agency information

What is a remote surrogacy agency?

A remote surrogacy agency is an organization that helps intended parents and surrogates connect and manage the surrogacy process primarily through online platforms and virtual communication, rather than in-person meetings. These agencies provide services such as matching, legal guidance, and coordination of medical appointments, all done remotely. This approach makes surrogacy accessible to people regardless of their location, streamlining the process and often reducing travel and logistical barriers.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Surrogacy Agency professional, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Surrogacy Agency professional, you need a solid understanding of reproductive health, surrogacy legal frameworks, and case management, often supported by a background in social work, counseling, or related fields. Familiarity with case management software, secure communication platforms, and compliance tools is typically required. Exceptional empathy, cultural sensitivity, and strong organizational and communication skills set standout professionals apart in this role. These competencies are crucial for effectively supporting intended parents and surrogates, ensuring legal and ethical compliance, and delivering a seamless remote experience.

How does working at a remote surrogacy agency typically involve collaboration with intended parents, surrogates, and other team members?

In a remote surrogacy agency, strong communication and collaboration skills are vital, as much of the work is conducted via digital platforms. Employees regularly coordinate with intended parents, surrogates, legal advisors, and medical professionals through video calls, emails, and project management tools. Team members often participate in virtual meetings to discuss case progress, address concerns, and ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards. The remote setting offers flexibility, but it also requires proactive organization to maintain strong relationships and provide seamless support throughout the surrogacy journey.

What is the difference between Remote Surrogacy Agency vs Surrogacy Coordinator?

AspectRemote Surrogacy AgencySurrogacy Coordinator
CredentialsBackground in reproductive health, counseling, or social work; often requires certificationSimilar credentials, including counseling or social work background; certification preferred
Work EnvironmentRemote or office-based, coordinating between intended parents and surrogatesPrimarily office or client-site work, managing surrogate relationships and logistics
Industry UsageUsed by agencies facilitating surrogacy arrangementsUsed within surrogacy agencies or clinics to support surrogate and intended parent relationships

While both roles involve supporting surrogacy processes, a Remote Surrogacy Agency oversees the entire surrogacy program remotely, coordinating multiple stakeholders, whereas a Surrogacy Coordinator focuses on managing relationships and logistics within an agency or clinic setting. Both require similar credentials and industry knowledge, but their scope and work environment differ.

About ConceiveAbilities
ConceiveAbilities is the premier gestational surrogacy and egg donation agency in the United States and worldwide. For nearly 30 years, ConceiveAbilities has guided clients through the complex process of family building through assisted reproductive technologies. We are modern family advocates that believe that everyone who wants to become a parent, can. Parents should be able to choose from many family-building options - regardless of marital status, fertility challenges, geopolitical factors, or social motivation. At ConceiveAbilities, we are All In. Our staff is committed to helping our clients from their first meeting, to choosing a surrogate, to the delivery plans for the baby and every step in between.
Position description
As a Surrogacy Match Expert for Gestational Carriers, you will be responsible for guiding, educating, and actively matching surrogates using our proprietary Matching Matters process. This involves successfully matching surrogates with the appropriate intended parents. Additionally, you will support the team in fostering strong relationships with surrogates and enhancing their experience as they embark on their surrogacy journey. In this role, you will collaborate with surrogates, the matching team, and operations teams to provide comprehensive education and support.
Position responsibilities
  • Conduct matching consultations with gestational carriers (and their partner).
  • Identify high-quality matches that meet legal, clinical, and personal requirements for surrogates and intended parents.
  • Collaborate with the Surrogate Engagement Team, Match Experts, and other departments to support efficient, effective matching processes.
  • Present surrogate matches to other match experts and provide clear, detailed information during the selection process.
  • Build trusting relationships with surrogates by listening to their concerns, addressing their needs, and offering flexible support, including after-hours availability at times.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and coordinate communication to ensure smooth and timely match progression.
Experience and skills
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum two years of experience in client or patient-facing roles providing service and communication.
  • Proficiency in computer and data entry skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Passion for working with growing organizations, recognizing the impact of growth.
  • Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
  • The capacity to consider multiple factors simultaneously and carefully evaluate potential outcomes to demonstrate successful scenario navigation.
  • Experience in the medical, social work, mental health, infertility, or third-party reproduction fields is advantageous.
  • Natural charisma and trustworthiness
  • The ability to be courageous and to inspire others to be courageous in the midst of difficult conversations.
We offer:
  • Generous PTO
  • Remote-first culture, with participation in in-person Employee Events
  • Travel for Employee Events
  • Medical, dental, vision, short- and long-term disability, basic life, and voluntary life
  • 401(k) with matching contributions
