Job Description
Bulletproof is engaging a Shopify Ecommerce Specialist as an independent contractor to execute ecommerce build, merchandising and quality assurance work on Bulletproof.com for a defined term of approximately five months. This is a deliverable-based engagement. Bulletproof defines the deliverables, acceptance criteria and deadlines. The contractor determines the methods, means and schedule for completing the work. The contractor works primarily in Shopify, Slack, Wrike and Zoom with supporting work in WordPress. The volume of work in this scope is expected to require full-time capacity for the duration of the term. Candidates should be able to commit accordingly. This engagement suits an experienced Shopify practitioner who works independently, builds cleanly, and has strong quality assurance discipline. Depending on business need at the end of the term, this engagement may lead to consideration for a full-time employee role at Bulletproof. Conversion is not guaranteed.
Additional Information:
  • Hourly contract rate: $35-$40/hour
  • Weekly hours: 30-40 hours per week, planned to start ASAP.
  • This is a fully remote contract role; candidates can be located anywhere within the United States.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Shopify Build and Configuration
    • Build and configure new product pages in the development environment, including imagery, alt text, descriptions, above-the-fold content, specifications, ingredients and nutrition information, and FAQs. This may or not may not require HTML or CSS knowledge depending on the module.
    • Build and configure landing pages and campaign pages, as well as update current pages
    • Create and configure collections, product organization and merchandising
    • Configure and maintain metafields and metaobjects
    • Update menus and site navigation
    • Manage product redirects, discontinued products and URL structure
    • Move completed builds from the development environment to production
    • Upload videos and/or photos to Shop App storefront
    • Manage Agentic storefront by adding in custom questions to Knowledge Base
  • Product Launch Execution
    • Execute the Shopify build steps for each new product launch against the launch calendar
    • Organize creative assets and SKU information supplied by Bulletproof teams
    • Complete quality assurance on every component prior to launch
    • Support issue resolution in the period immediately following each launch
  • Promotion Configuration and QA
    • Configure automatic discounts, coupon codes, gifts with purchase and subscription promotions with and without native Shopify functionality
    • Build supporting on-site marketing assets for the promotion or drive period, HTML and CSS required
    • Build promotional landing pages
    • Deploy and QA promotions in development, then verify in production
    • Verify promotional accuracy against the promotional calendar supplied by Bulletproof
  • Merchandising Execution
    • Homepage, collection and product merchandising updates
    • Featured product placement and product recommendation configuration
    • Seasonal and campaign merchandising updates
    • Navigation and site architecture updates as specified
  • SEO and Content Implementation
    • Implement on-page SEO recommendations supplied by Bulletproof and its SEO agency
    • Update product descriptions, collection copy and metadata
    • Manage canonicals and internal linking
    • Build SEO-optimized landing pages
    • Publish and update WordPress articles
  • Quality Assurance and Documentation
    • Quality assurance across all builds, promotions, merchandising changes and production deployments within this scope
    • Document defects and retest completed work before launch
    • Produce written standard operating procedures for the recurring build processes in this scope

Qualifications
  • Three or more years building and administering Shopify stores, including Shopify Plus
  • Hands-on proficiency with HTML and CSS
  • Demonstrated experience building product pages, landing pages, collections and custom templates
  • Experience configuring Shopify discounts and promotions, including gifts with purchase
  • Working knowledge of metafields, metaobjects and Shopify Markets
  • Experience implementing on-page SEO, structured data and schema markup
  • WordPress publishing experience
  • Familiarity with Wrike, Slack and Zoom or a comparable project management tool
  • Strong quality assurance discipline and exceptional attention to detail
  • Proven ability to work independently against defined deliverables and deadlines in a fully remote setting
  • Ability to multitask and change work flows throughout the day
  • Portfolio or references demonstrating comparable Shopify build work
  • Direct-response marketing mindset
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience with Skio or a comparable Shopify subscription application
    • Experience in consumer packaged goods, food and beverage, or supplements
    • Experience working alongside external creative or growth agencies
