Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to accurately identify client needs and formulate tailored treatment plans that address unique circumstances.
• Utilize evidence-based practices to deliver therapeutic interventions to individuals, couples, and families. Techniques may include cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, and other modalities relevant to the client's situation.
• Facilitate psychoeducational and support groups to encourage community engagement and knowledge sharing among clients, addressing prevalent mental health concerns.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, and fellow mental health professionals to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to patient care, promoting the best outcomes for clients.
• Offer crisis intervention services to assist clients in mental health emergencies, providing immediate support and resources as needed.
• Educate clients about mental health conditions, available treatments, and community resources to empower them on their journey to well-being.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records, adhering to all legal and ethical standards of practice.
• Actively engage in case consultations, team meetings, and continuing education activities to promote professional development and improve therapeutic practices.
• Stay informed on the latest research and advancements in mental health therapy, integrating these insights into your practice.

Qualifications

• A master’s or doctoral degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Massachusetts.
• In-depth knowledge of mental health disorders and an understanding of evidence-based treatment modalities and therapeutic approaches.
• Proven experience in conducting comprehensive mental health assessments and developing effective treatment plans.
• Familiarity with delivering individual and group therapy to a diverse range of populations.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to establish rapport with clients and collaborate effectively with team members.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain professional boundaries, and adhere to ethical standards in clinical practice.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other computer applications relevant to mental health practice.

Preferred Experience

• Two or more years of experience as a mental health counselor, with a focus on diverse populations and a wide range of mental health concerns.
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience in conducting remote therapy sessions effectively.

Compensation and Benefits

Santa Monica Behavioral Health Center offers a competitive salary ranging from $80,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to salary, we provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
