Work Environment

This position operates remotely, offering flexibility while allowing you to make a significant impact within the school systems in Yonkers, New York. The tools used to facilitate this remote engagement include telehealth platforms for virtual counseling sessions and electronic record management systems to track student progress and maintain confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans for students, recognizing their unique needs and setting achievable, measurable goals.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments through interviews and observations to evaluate clients' psychological and social conditions.
  • Monitor and document clients’ progress, adapting treatment strategies as necessary to address evolving challenges.
  • Provide guidance and counseling during one-on-one sessions, equipping clients with effective coping strategies and addressing their concerns.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate client records, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, contributing insights that aid in the overall development of support initiatives for students.
  • Refer clients to appropriate community services for additional support in their recovery process, fostering a collaborative approach to care.
  • Serve as a primary contact for crisis intervention, addressing immediate psychological needs and providing urgent support.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on children and adolescents within the educational system, addressing mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, behavioral challenges, and social struggles. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an empathetic and patient-centered approach, understanding the unique pressures faced by young individuals in a school context. Building rapport with students and their families is essential for successful intervention and support.

Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW), Psychology, Sociology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a social worker, preferably in a school setting or with a similar client demographic.
  • Active licensure as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New York.
  • Strong understanding of theoretical frameworks and practical applications of social work within educational environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively relating to diverse populations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with telehealth services and technology to facilitate remote counseling and support.
  • Knowledge of community resources and referral processes.
  • Familiarity with educational settings, student behavior management techniques, and related policies.
  • Previous involvement in crisis intervention is highly advantageous.
Compensation and Benefits
