The Role
As Controller, you will be a key leader on the finance team, responsible for building a world-class accounting function and scaling processes and systems. Reporting to the Head of Finance & Operations, you’ll ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.
This is a hands-on leadership role: you’ll set best practices, drive automation, and support strategic decision-making in a fast-paced environment. You’ll design and execute a roadmap that scales the accounting function from startup to mature company.
What You’ll Do
  • Lead and scale the accounting function, overseeing all reporting, processes, controls, and systems.
  • Build out disciplines including Financial Reporting, Technical Accounting, AP, Payroll, International, Corporate Accounting, Consolidations, Tax, Treasury, and Risk.
  • Own and optimize month-, quarter-, and year-end close processes; ensure GAAP compliance and accurate reporting.
  • Oversee GL activities, reconciliations, and tax compliance.
  • Independently manage external audits, including the company’s first audit and ongoing compliance.
  • Ensure the function has the right tech stack and scalable internal processes.
  • Implement systems that improve efficiency, shorten close cycles, and enable automation.
  • Partner with FP&A and business leaders to provide insight into financial results.
  • Hire, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team.
You Could Be a Great Fit If You…
  • Are a CPA with Big Four experience (required).
  • Have 10-20 years of progressive accounting experience across Big Four and industry.
  • Have operated in high-growth SaaS or tech environments, ideally from rapid growth through IPO.
  • Possess deep GAAP knowledge and a track record of shaping accounting policies and procedures.
  • Are hands-on, detail-oriented, and execution-driven while also strategic in designing scalable systems.
  • Have managed and grown teams (≥4 people).
  • Bring experience with audits, ERP implementations, and insourcing accounting functions.
  • Bonus: Familiarity with Stripe, Salesforce, and ERP solutions.
