Job description

We're looking for a leader to run our Royalty Administration team - the engine behind every dollar we pay out to our clients.
Since launching, we've closed hundreds of deals and the volume keeps climbing. Last year we paid out over $20M in royalties, and the pace is only accelerating. Our Royalty Administration team's workload is the fastest growing across the organization, and we need someone who can scale it without missing a beat.
The ideal candidate is an equal part operator and people leader. You know how to build efficient, repeatable processes - and you know how to develop a team that can execute them. You've managed royalty workflows (or something equally detail-intensive and high-stakes) and you're energized by the challenge of doing more with less friction. A background in music royalties or publishing is a big plus, but what matters most is that you're obsessed with accuracy, systems, and continuous improvement.
You'll own the full royalty distribution lifecycle - from retrieving statements to delivering payments - and you'll be responsible for making sure millions of dollars move accurately and on time. Our clients trust us to get this right, and they trust us even more when we catch mistakes upstream before they become problems.
Job Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Royalty Administration team
  • Own the end-to-end royalty distribution process - statements, reconciliation, reporting, and payments
  • Design and implement process improvements that scale with deal volume
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex royalty inquiries and discrepancies
  • Partner with Accounting and other departments to ensure accuracy across the board
  • Set priorities and manage workload across the team to meet tight, recurring deadlines
  • Establish quality controls and audit processes to catch errors before they reach clients
  • Track and report on team performance and operational metrics
Qualifications
  • Prior people management experience required
  • Ability to manage high volume, time-sensitive deadlines
  • General ledger accounting and reconciliation experience
  • Audit experience and/or strong GAAP knowledge
  • Music royalty experience preferred

Compensation
$85k-$95k based on experience
Benefits: Medical, Vision, Life, Dental, 401k

Paid Time Off and Sick Leave
