Job description

IDEXX is looking for a Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager to join our high-impact, collaborative indirect procurement team. In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders while owning a portfolio of indirect spend, with a primary focus on technology and software categories. You will lead end-to-end sourcing initiatives, independently drive complex RFP processes, and negotiate high-value contracts that deliver measurable business impact. You'll have the opportunity to lead meaningful sourcing initiatives, build trusted stakeholder relationships, drive strategic value across the organization, own your portfolio, influence business outcomes, and expand your career.

This role is ideal for a highly organized, agile, and strategic thinker who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can reprioritize effectively, and influences outcomes without direct authority. You'll operate in an "always learning" environment with strong support to build subject matter expertise, while benefiting from an autonomous leadership style and a culture that values teamwork, performance, and sustainable workloads.

What You'll Do:

  • Own and execute end-to-end strategic sourcing initiatives, including independently leading multi-step RFP processes for contracts exceeding $250K

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies across indirect categories, with an emphasis on IT and software (including subscription-based models)

  • Negotiate pricing, contract terms, and commercial structures to optimize cost, timing, volume, and risk

  • Build strong leverage strategies through supplier competition, benchmarking, and market insights

  • Partner cross-functionally with Legal, IT, Finance, and other stakeholders to align on requirements and drive successful outcomes

  • Manage supplier relationships, including performance, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Translate business needs into clear scopes of work and sourcing strategies

  • Drive total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis, including identifying hidden costs and long-term value opportunities

  • Manage a pipeline of sourcing projects with strong project management discipline and prioritization

Requirements You Will Need to Succeed:

  • 5-8 years of indirect procurement and strategic sourcing experience, with ownership of supplier portfolios

  • Proven ability to independently lead end-to-end RFP processes for contracts valued at $250K+

  • 1-2+ years of experience sourcing IT and/or software categories (including SaaS, subscriptions, or licensing models)

  • Strong contract knowledge with demonstrated success negotiating complex commercial agreements and driving measurable value

  • Experience applying structured, multi-step sourcing methodologies (e.g., Kearney or similar frameworks)

  • Advanced negotiation skills with the ability to create leverage and consistently deliver favorable outcomes

  • Strong business acumen and the ability to influence stakeholders across IT, Legal, Finance, and other functions without direct authority

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted advisor relationships

  • Strong project management and organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and reprioritize effectively in a dynamic environment

  • Strategic mindset with a focus on cost, risk, timing, and overall value optimization

  • Agile, flexible, and solutions-oriented approach with a proactive, ownership-driven mindset

  • Demonstrated success leading complex sourcing initiatives, driving cost savings, and improving supplier performance

  • Ability to work standard East Coast hours (9:00 AM - 5:00 PM or 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM EST); remote flexibility available for the right candidate

What you can expect from us:

  • Salary of $110-$140k depending on skills and experience

  • Opportunity for annual cash bonus

  • Health / Dental / Vision Benefits (Day-One)

  • 5% matching 401k

  • Additionalbenefits including but not limited to financial support, pet insurance, mental health resources, volunteer paid days off, employee stock program, foundation donation matching, and much more
