Job description

Position Summary...What you'll do...Walmart Data Ventures is looking for an experienced quantitative and/or qualitative Research Manager to join our growing Research Team. This role sits at the intersection of client partnership, commercial growth, and hands-on research execution. The Research Manager is responsible for identifying research opportunities, shaping solutions, and personally lead bespoke research projects from concept through delivery. The ideal candidate is an intellectually curious, detail-oriented self-starter who thrives in a fast-moving, build-oriented environment.
Who we are:
Walmart Data Ventures exists to unlock the full value of Walmart's data by developing and productizing B2B data programs that empower merchants and suppliers to make better, faster decisions for the business. As part of this transformation, we're looking for individuals to help build data productization from concept to deployment. Join us at Walmart Data Ventures and be a part of a team that values performance and excellence.
What you’ll do:
  • Own the full lifecycle of quantitative and qualitative research projects, including proposal development, research design, questionnaire writing, programming, data collection, analysis, and insight storytelling.
  • Act as both research lead and commercial partner, identifying client needs, shaping sellable research solutions, and driving revenue through bespoke engagements.
  • Serve as a product ambassador with deep knowledge of Walmart Data Ventures’ offerings and the competitive research landscape.
  • Personally execute research within our proprietary survey platform while creatively extending beyond it to develop new methodologies and approaches.
  • Navigate ambiguity and evolving requirements, proactively troubleshooting issues while maintaining high research quality and client trust.
  • Build and grow long-term client relationships through consultative engagement, annual planning workshops, and value-added insights.
  Who you are:
  • You are equally energized by selling research ideas and executing the work behind them.
  • You are comfortable working in a startup-like environment with evolving processes, tools, and expectations.
  • You enjoy building new approaches, testing ideas, and improving how research is done—not just running what already exists.
  • You can juggle multiple client engagements while maintaining high standards of rigor and responsiveness.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • 5+ years of experience working brand-side or within a market research vendor environment, with direct client-facing responsibility
  • Experience supporting or leading retail, CPG, or supplier-side research initiatives
  • Experience owning or meaningfully contributing to end-to-end research projects, from design through delivery
  • Experience visualizing data using tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, and others
  • Knowledge of SPSS and/or other quantitative reporting tools
  • Familiarity with online data collection tools (e.g., SurveyMonkey, Qualtrics, Decipher)
