Job description

Associate District Manager - Commercial HVAC/R

Rite Air Mechanical | Moorestown, New Jersey

Join Rite Air Mechanical, a Smart Care company, as an Associate District Manager (ADM) supporting our commercial HVAC and refrigeration operations in the Moorestown, New Jersey market.

The Associate District Manager partners with the District Manager to lead daily field operations, develop a team of Service Technicians, and help the district achieve its customer service, sales, and profitability goals. This role works closely with technicians, dispatchers, customers, and internal support teams to keep service delivery running efficiently.

The ADM plays an important role in workforce planning, technician performance and development, customer relationships, safety, fleet management, and operational improvement. As a district leader, you will also help recruit, onboard, coach, motivate, and manage the performance of the field service team.

What You'll Do

Manage daily workforce flow, technician schedules, PTO, and the emergency on-call schedule for evenings and weekends.

Partner with dispatchers to improve technician scheduling, service efficiency, schedule adherence, and completion of contracted work.

Review technician timecards for accuracy, make appropriate corrections, and meet weekly payroll deadlines.

Lead and reinforce all field safety initiatives.

Participate in technician recruiting, onboarding, training, and ongoing development.

Coach technicians to take ownership of their performance, productivity, and customer service results.

Identify individual strengths and development opportunities within the technician team.

Manage technician performance through coaching, feedback, and corrective action in partnership with the District Manager.

Review district performance and operating metrics with the District Manager to identify opportunities for improvement.

Help control operating expenses and support the district in achieving its sales and profitability goals.

Work with the Parts Department to resolve parts availability, shipping, and delivery issues.

Build strong working relationships with customers and key stakeholders.

Investigate customer concerns, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions.

Participate in service vehicle inventory reviews and create action plans to address compliance issues.

Partner with fleet management to maintain accurate district vehicle and driver information.

Support annual, quarterly, monthly, and daily workforce planning, including PTO scheduling, attendance management, and staffing needs.

Basic Qualifications

You must meet one of the following:

  • At least 5 years of people-management and relevant field-service leadership experience and technical ability in the HVAC/R field.
  • A valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle record.
  • The ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • The ability to work from and regularly travel throughout the Moorestown, New Jersey service market.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without current or future immigration sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in commercial HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical services, facilities management, or another field-service industry.
  • Previous experience leading HVAC/R technicians or another skilled-trades workforce.
  • Strong knowledge of scheduling, dispatch, workforce planning, and field-service operations.
  • Experience reviewing performance metrics and using data to improve productivity, service quality, and profitability.
  • Demonstrated success meeting customer expectations and business objectives.
  • Experience managing budgets, operating expenses, or profit-and-loss performance.
  • Strong coaching, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to remain organized and make sound decisions in a fast-paced service environment.
