What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Relocation Move Project Manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Relocation Move Project Manager, you need expertise in project management, logistics coordination, and relocation processes, usually supported by a bachelor's degree and relevant experience. Familiarity with project management software (such as Asana or MS Project), relocation management systems, and possibly a PMP certification are often required. What is a Remote Relocation Move Project Manager?

A Remote Relocation Move Project Manager is a professional who oversees and coordinates the process of moving individuals or businesses from one location to another, managing the project entirely or partially from a remote location. Their responsibilities include planning logistics, coordinating with moving vendors, ensuring timelines are met, managing budgets, and communicating with clients and stakeholders throughout the move. They use digital tools to track progress, resolve issues, and ensure a smooth relocation experience without being physically present at the moving site.

What are some common challenges faced by a Remote Relocation Move Project Manager and how can they be addressed?

A Remote Relocation Move Project Manager often navigates challenges such as coordinating logistics across multiple locations, managing vendors remotely, and keeping clear communication with both clients and onsite teams. Overcoming these obstacles requires strong organizational skills, proactive use of digital project management tools, and regular virtual check-ins to ensure everyone is aligned on timelines and expectations. Building solid relationships with trusted local partners and establishing clear protocols for issue escalation can also help streamline the relocation process and minimize disruptions.

Job description

The Company
We're Tallwave, a digital agency. We're a curious, competitive group of data-driven marketers, designers, and creative problem solvers who move fast to help our clients achieve their most ambitious goals. We find parity boring, and we're constantly challenging ourselves to deliver innovative solutions with speed, precision, and impeccable craftsmanship. We dream big, we drive results, and we'll make a lasting impact on our clients' businesses.
Our ambitions are too big to leave room for individual egos, and the true measure of our success is what we can accomplish together. Our culture balances individual aspirations and accountability with each other. We value selflessness, humility, and tremendous work ethic. This drives an inspiration and dedication that can be felt across the organization.
The Person
Tallwave seeks out individuals who are a cut above. Their exceptional skill, diverse perspectives, obsession for winning together, and relentless pursuit of continuous self-improvement, both professionally and personally, give them an innate ability to lead, innovate, and inspire. They have well-honed philosophies and points of view in their areas of expertise, they think unconventionally, and their endless curiosity pushes them to constantly explore, learn, improve, and try new things.
The Job
We're looking for a Project Manager who will manage multiple client engagements at once, bringing structure, momentum, and a calm hand to fast-moving creative, strategy, and digital marketing work across our client portfolio. Organization, proactive communication, and the ability to build trust with both internal teams and client stakeholders are critical for success in this role.
This role joins a Project Management team that serves a business-critical function, orchestrating the efforts of our delivery teams with operational excellence so our work lands on time and on budget. You'll typically manage 3 to 5 client engagements simultaneously, partnering closely with the rest of the organization to keep work moving across design, development, content, search, analytics, and research and planning.
You'll be joining a Project Management team that's still building out its full leadership bench - which means real opportunity to shape how we work, not just execute against someone else's playbook. The right person treats ambiguity as room to lead rather than a gap to wait out, picks up structure and process where it's missing, and moves forward without needing every answer defined in advance. If you're as energized by building as you are by running, you'll thrive here.
This is a client-facing role first and foremost. You'll be in front of clients daily, helping run working sessions, presenting status and recommendations, and serving as the relationship's day-to-day point of contact. Comfort owning that relationship, not just the project plan behind it, is essential.
The Skills
The successful candidate will:
  • Manage 3 to 5 client engagements simultaneously, ensuring work is delivered on time, on budget, and aligned to each client's strategy, business goals, and defined KPIs.
  • Build and maintain project plans, timelines, scopes, and status reporting across cross-functional delivery teams.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration, keeping creative, strategy, and delivery teams aligned and unblocked.
  • Demonstrate leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functional lines and at many levels, including senior leadership and client executives.
  • Find solutions to challenges and obstacles with confidence and grace, treating collaboration and problem-solving as the first response rather than escalation.
  • Serve as a trusted, go-to resource for account context - knowledgeable enough across service lines to represent the work in a client meeting when needed, and know where to go for answers when you're not the expert.
  • Apply lessons learned from each engagement to continuously improve workflows, templates, and processes for the broader PM team.
  • Participate in key internal and external meetings, including weekly status updates and planning sessions, and keep project status current in Tallwave's PM tools.
  • Communicate candidly and constructively, building consensus across stakeholders with varying priorities, and continuously sharpen your active listening and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Be accountable to your teammates and aware of how your actions and decisions affect the broader team and business.

The Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
  • A Bachelor's degree (preferred).
  • 3 to 5 years of Project Management experience, including at least 3 years of direct client-facing work, including multi-layered stakeholder management and compliance reviews.
  • Experience working in an agency or growth-company setting, ideally with exposure to Tallwave's core service offerings: Design, Development, Content, Search, Analytics, and Research and Planning.
  • Demonstrated success managing several client engagements and/or projects under one client umbrella concurrently, with the organizational rigor to context-switch across accounts without dropping details.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Fluency with standardized status reporting and portfolio-level rollups (RAG status, executive dashboards)
  • A solutions-focused, analytical approach to using data and evidence to make decisions.
  • Comfort handling sensitive and confidential information appropriately, with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and adapt to a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment.
  • Moderate to advanced skill with Google Suite collaboration tools (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
  • Exposure to project management and workshopping tools such as Asana, Jira, Smartsheet, Harvest, Forecast, Figma, Miro, or Mural.
  • PMP or CAPM certification is a plus.

The Culture and Perks of Being a Tallwaver:
  • We embrace a maverick attitude. We're willing to challenge convention and think beyond the ask.
  • We are committed to relentless pursuit. We're curious with a focus on personal growth.
  • We value selfless teamwork, demonstrating strong leadership qualities with a knack for collaboration.
  • We are thoughtfully rigorous, with a strong work ethic and strong attention to detail.
  • We foster an environment of empathy and compassion for each other and our clients.
  • We are a diverse (and competitive, and hilarious, and sometimes a little crazy) group of coworkers. You know, the kind you actually want to grab a drink with after work.
  • We offer career growth and opportunity. We grow leaders here.
  • We recognize the contributions of individuals and teams throughout Tallwave and we stop to celebrate along the way.
  • We are surrounded by badass talent and clients -- our work has been featured in TechCrunch, Forbes, Wired, Product Hunt, and more.
  • We've been featured on the INC Best Workplaces List, the Phoenix Business Journal Best Places to Work List, and the AZCentral Top Places to Work List.

Benefits
  • We offer comprehensive Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, and 401(k) plans.
  • We provide employer-paid short-term disability, long-term disability plans and life insurance.
  • We're more concerned about how we work than where we work. We offer remote work and office hours flexibility as needed.
  • We trust our team and have a generous PTO policy.

Why You'll Love Working with Us
Free to be you each and every day! We celebrate diversity and empower you to bring your authentic self to work, always. We know that diversity, equity, and inclusion is not about checking a box. It's more than words; it is a pledge and a promise that Tallwave is passionate about pursuing. We recognize having an all-encompassing culture will help us learn and grow collectively and will continue to foster our mission of making everyone we work with wildly successful.
Physical Demand:
This job may require sitting for long periods of time, and minimal (if any) lifting. Some travel may be required.
Working Conditions
All employees are expected to operate in a professional home office environment and routinely use standard office equipment like computers, telephones, and teleconferencing equipment.
Position Applicants, please note the following:
At this time, this position is only open to applicants who are legally authorized to work in the United States and who are living in the United States. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship of any kind, so please do not apply if:
  • You are not legally authorized to work in the United States, or
  • You are not living in the 48 contiguous U.S. states, Alaska, or Hawai'i, or
  • You will require any kind of visa sponsorship.

Tallwave is an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
